Tabbed terminals are pretty good, but you should not display the tabs, and instead navigate with shift+left/right. You should also improve everything else, probably. I forget who it is has the desktop with a onepunch man page on it, but that page makes it look like the anime/manga has cute girls, which is good--perhaps you should have one of them, on a monochromatic background. Just spitballing here.
Also don't read manga online, and please tell me if there's anything complete and fun on the Linux Game Database. I have to go for a bit--but I'm excited the read your response when I come back!

I think there's an opportunity out there if someone made a thing sort of halfway between futaba and imgur. Gallery for the OP, long-term storage so it works as an image host, per-thread voting, a front page that threads can get voted to and an imageboard sort of behind the scenes that they come from

I got linked to an imgur gallery the other day, which is what made me think about it. It's almost an imageboard, but people replying have to link other posts to show pictures (?) which leads to weird stuff like commenting on funny reaction images so you can find and link them later. The other thing I noticed is that they really really love screencapped greentext posts over there. It's sort of a normal-friendly version of 4chan, without dedicated topic boards, which is an interesting idea.

I suppose this would be a good place to ask - is there some way to get rid of the taskbar calendar WITHOUT setting everything to small icons? I don't like shit cluttering up my taskbar. It seems so stupid there's no easy option to do this.
I think the easiest way would be, hide the whole thing (date, clock and all) in the settings, then install a 3rd party replacement.
Anyone know of something like this? Pic related would sorta be what I'm looking for.

Actually lo-fi is the ultimate form of minimalism, not only is it aesthetically minimal but also bit-minimal.
Instead of using humans to try and mimic an atmosphere of lower information density, we use an algorithm to physically strip data and minimize the image, evenn what used to be the most complicated renditions can be converted this way.
The contrast between what looks minimal, and what is actually bit-minimal is a central theme to this new aesthetic

I think there's something to what sadboy said, though. The preoccupation with the "geocities aesthetic" suggests to me a sort of nostalgia for the democratized web that never quite was. There was a brief moment where the web was "by the people, for the people", rather than an endless human centipede of "user-generated content" being hoovered up by corporate concerns and vomited back as branding and targeted advertisements; the web-rings and x-files fansites that existed only because someone cared about the content (crappy as it was) without any expectation of remuneration via google ads
Basically it's like the 80s nostalgia of the noughties. Now we're ten years on and focusing on a time ten years on from that.
