Why don't we have 10GHz CPUs?
>>51588144
>400mhz (4x100mhz)
>10ghz (4x2.5ghz)
You're stupid
>>51588158
you're even more stupid
more Hzs = more power need = more heat
>>51588170
>10ghz (4x2.5ghz)
That's cheating.
>>51588170
That's a cute kitty.
And that's also cute bait.
>>51588144
>2000
netburst a shit
power consumption, heat, energy, muh pipeline
we have but the 6GHz by intel cant be cooled down at the unleashed point of 10 ghZ
>>51588144
Physical limits, anon. A single core cannot hold much more transistors than currently, because at some point distance between entry and exit ones becomes too large for efficient floating-point number calculations. Right know we can just clamp together more cores for parallel computing (which doesn't translates to simple 'x more cores = x more powah').
'Why not make smaller transistors' you ask. Current 14 nm ones are basically a limit if what we can achieve. There is some research on 10 nm transistors, but they are far from being complete.
The internal component's of the circuit can't handle being run at that speed. Shit overheats or breaks.

my sides
yeah spurdo is pleb as fuck but I love it
>>51588144
The speed of light.
Netburst was terrible, the pentium D was an abomination. Literally two P4s on the same die.
>>51588144
The same reason the nuclear weapon race is over. Sometimes less and complex is more
>>51588191
It's not cheating. They didn't have multi core chips in 2000.
>>51588144
physics
>>51590004
>yeah spurdo is pleb as fuck but I love it
spurdo is by far one of the finest memes.
>>51588144
4Ghz+4Ghz+4Ghz+4Ghz=16Ghz, no?
>>51590004
Spurdo is the meme of the thinking man
>>51588203
I thought housefires were the hallmark of Nvidia?
>>51588144
Because going by their logic, they absolutely destroyed their expectations.
>2500K
>5.2ghz on all 4 cores
>20ghz+
>>51591675
Not quite, AMD has managed to create more than a handful of NUCLEAR HAZARD hot processors in the past.
I remember for a while I had a processor from them that was literally idling on 75 celsius. Oh you are reading your mail? Nevermind, let me just set your house on fire.
Changed paste, got better cooler, and it was still idiling around 75 celsius. It was insane.
>>51591726
I think speccy and other detectors are not showing correct stats. My Intel processor shits itself to 68C on idle sometimes for no reason. Meanwhile AMD one is like 14C.
We need a proper tool for accurate temps with separate versions for Intel and AMD CPU's.
>>51591758
oh no, I checked it in the BIOS. Also a couple of times my processor just overheated and shut down unexpectedly. It's pretty safe to say that is the correct number.
>>51591726
>>51591781
Were you trying to use a computer in the middle of death valley in the summer?
>>51588191
The sum processing power of the processor is calculated like that.
Stop being troll.
>>51590004
>sprudo
>pleb
Top bait
>>51591790
of course not. I live in eastern europe. It's cold here, as you well know.
okay I lied, due to the gulf current our weather is warmer than US cities on the same latitude, but it's not anywhere near close to desert climate. More like.. Ohio or something.
>>51590004
at least it's not facebook frog
>>51590004
Spurdo is the best meme that's come out of Finland, he other being euroshopper.
>>51591726
>>51592097
Intel processors idle at higher temps and operate at higher temps than amd ones, you fucking retard.
>>51592380
>>51588144
Because 10ghz power core on electricity violates physics.
We'll get it when we go optical.
