Seagate Barracuda 1TB.

I bought it to replace a shitty HGST E7K1000. Thing sounded like a fucking jackhammer. It literally vibrated my desk.

The Seagate is considerably quieter, and faster as it has twice the cache (64 MB vs 32 MB).

Don't fall for the HGST meme.

>Samsung Spinpoint F3 500 GB
I don't remember when I got it. The model was first sold in 2009. It has 35054 "Power_On_Hours", which is about four years. It was moved from my previous build to my current one about three years ago. In the last build it was used with an older Samsung drive which has since failed. In this one it's used for my home directory, with the rest of the filesystem on an SSD.

Pretty happy with it. I bought it because it was supposed to be quieter than comparable drives at the time, and it is very quiet. If it died today I would say that it had a reasonable lifespan, but it's not showing any signs of wear.
