I have one, it's alright but the default amazon os is basically one big ad. It's not too hard to replace the launcher and get rid of the lockscreen ads but I'll be much happier if one day someone figures out how to get vanilla android on it.

if you want a piece of hardware that is subsidized by stealing your soul. then go right ahead.
You might think that I"m being crazy. But when it comes down to it, the machine logs everything, and then uses it to advertise to you. basically at some point you aren't making your own choices anymore and just a product of the algorithm as it advertises to you. And this is too close to that nightmare.
