Mixcraft is likely the most underrated DAW in existence. Extremely user friendly, and has everything you could want in a DAW for home recording. It's missing some features only real professionals would miss, but $60 for an unlimited licence of software as robust as it is, is a steal. (I pay for software, but only if it's from developers I like and want to support) been podcasting and using it to record local bands for about 4 years, and I haven't yet come across anything it couldn't do with the right plugin.
Cyberlink Powerdirector is THE video editing software on PC. Just Google "best video editing software" and odds are it'll be at the top, or contending very closely with Final cut. It's also the most well coded VES on the market, with the fastest render speeds of any. I switched some time ago from Sony Vegas, and after a week, I never touched Sony again.

Personally, I really like the simpler, high contrast nature of Mixcrafts UI, and feel like it really helps my productivity having such clearly labeled and quickly identifiable tools and readouts, but that's just me, I guess. The ability to color each track is a particularly nice touch, when you've been working on a track for hours, and start losing attentiveness.

I genuinely miss Steve-o, god, the only apple products I own are like a iPhone 4s and an old iPod, my main phone is a xperia z5, and I miss hiss promise of "thermonuclear war on Android" for pretty much borrowing a lot of definitive features in Android that are what make a "mobile os".
I miss the time when apple showed of something new and I was amazed by it, like when the iPhone 5s came out with touchid, a shitty gimmick that is way less secure than a conventional passcode but look at all the smartphone oems nowadays that have only just started to perfect it. Well, you could say 3d touch was somewhat revolutionary, the hardware was definitely revolutionary at least, but the software.... Jesus, what you can open up a few things faster and open the multitasking menu? Steve's fucking rolling in his grave as we speak.
