How do I save Netflix video + audio streams to disk? (Basically: how 2 download Netflix stuff)
>>
Screen recorder. AFAIK there isn't a way to break their copy protection directly at the moment.
>>
Install Pokémon Crystal
>>
Doesn't Netflix use a video encoding format whose decoding is hardware accelerated in most modern graphics cards? Could you not just rebuild the encoder in your graphics card to output the encoded version instead of decoding it?
>>
This would be simple for you to figure out if you knew about a magical site called Google. Might want to ask " how to record monitor in 1080p" :)
>>
>>51521338
VM and then screen recorder...?
>>
>>51522014
But then it would be poorly compressed. I want the original data that is being played back.

kek, what's the point
>>
>>51521338
Try a type of video ripper called 'gentoo' ignore the other anons, they are just trolling you.
>>
>>51522078
Neatly organised and consistently formatted content.
>>
>>51521338
Just download a Blu-ray encode.
>>
Their DRM protection wont even let you take screen shots of what you're watching. Recording at high quality just wouldnt be an easy thing to do.
>>
>>51522091
No.
>>
Install Gentoo
>>
>>51521338
you cant.
what's the point of this shit thread?
>>
>>51521931
This.
>>
It would be much easier to use their DVD subscription to rent Blu Ray disks and rip those.
>>
Google "how to kill yourself" and then follow the instructions
>>
I'm pretty sure that Netflix watermarks their streams. Unless you know exactly how the watermarking is done, it would be unwise to rip them.
>>
>>51521338
if you have a playstation or xbox or streaming device, plug it into a dvd player and record whatever you're streaming to a dvd.
>>
>>51522164
Yeah you can pretty much guarantee they have an embedded watermark, I wouldnt be surprised if it was personalized watermark tied to your account so they can keep track and ban accounts who manage to rip from netflix.

Get fucked.

Bunch of scene / warez groups do Netflix series rips, how do they manage it?
>>
>>51522250
multiple rips compiled together and edited to remove the watermark, crop, and compress slightly for reupload.
>>
>>51521338
why the fuck do you need to save your degenerate mkultra mind control hollywood shit-tainment so bad you dumb faggot? enjoy the service for what it is fatass
>>
>>51522212
>personalized watermark
Seems unlikely. Would require so much more work on their side because they'd need to re-encode videos for individual accounts. Also: http://gizmodo.com/this-box-can-hold-an-entire-netflix-1592590450
Where's the GPU?

I don't know how to use a screen recorder so I'd just put my camera on my tripod and film the screen.
Just make sure there's no light in the room so you don't get glare. You can crop the video afterward.
>>
>>51522311
so so stupid. do none of this. stream the shit goddamnit. you stupid faggots trying to steal content while my 40k investment in NFLX in 2007 made me a million. bunch of dying idiots
>>
>>51522286
There are actually ways to add watermarks without re-encoding, and netflix could probably manage to do it.
>>
>>51522304
Get fucked.
>>
>>51522286
The watermark does not have to be there through the entire film. It could also be in the audio.
>>
>>51521338
install gentoo
>>
>>51522393
Yup, just add a few identifying audio "watermarks" in the super higher 20khz+ or in the super low sub 20hz range. Both should be imperceptible to most humans.
>>
>>51522311
there are legitimate use cases for this

>going on road trip with family or friends
>download your favorite season of whatever
>many laughs and awake drivers the whole trip without costing you 60K in data useage
>>
>>51522410
but sounds as easy to remove as the sony DRM and a magic marker

>cant hear that shit anyway
>clip the audio
>>
>>51522444
of course it would be easy to remove if you know it's there. The whole point is they dont tell you where it is, when it happens, if it happens at all.

They could throw in some background noise during a particularly noisy scene that doesn't sound out of place, but in actuality when compared to the source file, you can figure out who ripped it based on the extra noise added in.

Basically, sure it is easy if you know exactly what you are trying to beat.

what

>>51522552
A VM playing the video using the Netflix player. Still better than filming a damn monitor.

>>
>>51522568
capturing from the VM is the same as on your actual machine, right? how does playing it in a VM make it preferable?
>>
>>51522758
I was thinking in case you do not have the necessary equipment to record non-virtualised graphics, since you may not want to affect the machine being recorded by using something like a recording program installed onto the machine you intend to record (i.e. recording internally).

In any case, the main point of the post which the one you responded to is a further explanation of is that it seems rather pointless to film a monitor that is playing a movie, if one has access to the machine that is connected to the monitor.
>>
>>51521931
This could actually work.

bump because I'm interested in this.

>>51522250
They use capture cards on game consoles usually. That and good internet. You can capture the decoded stream losslessly and then encode it with x264. If a 4k feed is available they'll usually cap that and then downscale it to 1080p and 720p.
>>
Output recorder, is what I like to call it.
Also what watermarks?
>>
>>51521363
What a fucking stupid meme nice try
