Considering that my current psu has a 10 year warranty I'd say otherwise for at least 10 years.
I just open it up and replace the capacitors myself. Makes it run like a kitten again.

Used the same PSU for almost 5 years and the one before that for 6.
My CMPSU-550VX has made it seven years. The rails are weak and it is time for a replacement.
