What is the best free antivirus on windows?
MSE/Defender
ESET Nod 32, of course this is if you keep feeding it free trial details every two weeks.

I second this. If you are blocking ads and unwanted scripts like you should be, and you have Malwarebyes for active scans, you want something with a very small footprint that guaranteed is not trying to fuck you over because they want you to buy their PRO version. MSE/Defender is just that. Even if it is a bad antivirus, in my opinion it's better to have strong defense up front and have an out of the way AV in the back than to have an intrusive resource hogging AV that acts like malware running around doing what it wants.
Malwarebytes
Common Sense Gold Edition Professional Ultimate 2015, anon.
Or if you're smart enough to not download seedy shit, just leave Windows Defender running and scan your computer with MBAM every month or so.

Malware bytes is anti-malware not an anti-virus.

Bitdefender, Avira, and Panda are the best free antivirus products for Windows currently.

Common Sense 2016

This is perfect for installing on family and friend's computer. As for any typical /g/ user, you shouldn't even need an antivirus so long as you use an updated browser + common sense.

>All malware are viruses but not all viruses are malware.
I'll fall for this bait.
"malware" stands for "malicious software".
All viruses, worms, trojans etc. are forms of malware.
