What do you guys think about this build?
>4590
Get a 4460 instead, the performance diff is minimal
>hyper evo 212
No, use the stock cooler it's more than capable.
>z97 MOBO
No. Get h97 instead, you have a locked cpu.
>16gb 2400mhz ram
No. Get 8gb 1600mhz, anything more is overkill. The locked i5 Haswell refresh can only use max 1600mhz anyway.
Use the money you save to get an r9 390 and a 650w+ psu

This for the most part.
I still would go with the 212 evo. Its super cheap and even though the CPU is locked, h97 series do allow for level of overclock and well, overclocking or not, the stock cooler is trash.

>stock cooler is trash
Why? It's quiet, power efficient and keeps temp < 30 when idle and scales well under load. Do you really think Intel would include a cooler that can't do its job?
You have a locked cpu, its a waste of money to bug z97, go h97. Maybe consider skylake instead, the early adopter tax wont last much longer.
That's a pci wireless card, I recommend either go powerline networking on a desktop or get an external USB wireless card. If not you at least want a pci express wireless card. Intel makes some good stuff with Bluetooth too.

ROFL what the hell are you using? An i3? I've literally never seen a stock cooler under 45c. And under load you can hit 80-90. For $25 a hyper 212 is alot more performance.
>>51474870
I had nothing but overheating issues with stock coolers from Intel, even without overclocking. They are pure garbage.
>>51474740
Yeah or an SSD.
>>51475146
i5 4460 on one build. 25~ idle. 45-50 under load playing gta v at 1440p on ultra.
Xeon E3 1231v3 in another, 20-25 at idle. 60 max even with 90% cpu usage for extended periods of time.
All with stock cooler.
Aftermarket coolers for locked cpu's are a meme and a waste of money.
>>51475245
I call bullshit unless you have like 10 case fans.
4460 w/ stock cooler
>>51475245
>>51475327
>HDD at 21°C
okay, so you probably have a room temperature of 10°C
>>51474283
>No M.2
>>51475327
n200 case, 1 intake fan and 1 exaust
cinebench cpu benchmark
room temp is a nice crispy 25 degrees
How's mine? I'm starting from 0 btw. My budget might be stretched to 2500, I'm thinking of getting everything but the gpu this week, and maybe get the 980ti 1-2 weeks later. But as I'm going to be using a 2560 x 1080 screen, I think the 980 is sufficient for maxed out gaming 60fps.
