Sup /g/.
So, im poor and wanna build a pc, this is what im thinking due my low budget:
Grafics: gygabite radeon r7 240 2gb gddr3
Processor: intel pentium dual core 3ghz 3mb cache lga 1150
Motherboard: intel pentium dual core 3ghz 3mb cache lga 1150
Ram: hyperx fury series 4gb 240pin ddr3 1600
Harddisk, cabinet and power supply unknown.
Any suggestions to have a better performance and still have a cheap price?
Also, which harddisk and cabinet should i buy? (least expensive ones) my budget is around $5000 mexican pesos. (mexicanon here)
Thank you on advance.
>>
>>51472281
Shit man, that budget is really low.
Honestly I recommend you save up some more. With that amount of money you have to either buy used parts or buy really shitty new parts. You can't enjoy your games if you're constantly at 30fps on lowest settings.

Do you have a mouse / monitor / keyboard?
>>
>>51472350
Yep, i have them, shitty one tho. Yeah, thinking on waiting till next year and save more money.
Btw, im a filthy casual playing in a shity computer at potato quality, so everything is an upgrade.
>>
>>51472450
What are your current specs?
Which games do you intend to play on your new system?
>>
>>51472281
Buy tacos.
>>
If your standards are that low, you're better off buying a console.
>>
>>51472563
He wants to pirate all the games.

Mexicans, not even once.
>>
Just buy an Xbox One man, don't waste your time with PC if money is tight

Theres nothing wrong with console, alot of people have console AND PC, you'd probably have a better time on console with that budget
>>
>>51472450
Shit man, I wanted to help you, but you take 15+ minutes to reply to simple questions.
I knew brown people couldn't be trusted.
>>
>>51472614
>Because he can afford a console in first place.
>implying he can buy games after that.
Oh boy I'm laffin
>>
>>51472595
Gotta be careful he doesn't torrent from the wrong cartel's tracker though.
Gonna end up in a steel drum filled with concrete one day
>>
5000 pesos could buy a lot of tacos OP
>>
>>51472281

scavenge a case, monitor, mouse, and keyboard if possible
your build will be fine for playing random mmos and shit, but you obviously won't be able to run the newest games
>>
Get second hand stuff.
And stay away from GDDR3 gpu's.
>>
>>51472701
can I get wall simulator:hot tacos edition running?
>>
Not OP here,

Can you guy tell me wjat do you think of these specs ?
Note that I also have a super low budget and poor as fuck

Cpu : core i3 3.30 GHZ
Motherboard GIgabyte DDR3
ram 6 Go DDR3
Graphics : Saphire ATI HD 6670 GDDR5 UP to 2.8 Go hyper memory
HDD 320 GO
>>
>>51472817
Ati doesn't work with that i3. You need a "k" i3 version if you don't want lag.
>>
>>51472817
6670 is incredibly shitty.
>>
>>51472863
Well, it's only for 200$
Is it a good deal ?
>>
>>51472908
Hope you mean $200 for the whole thing.
The whole thing is worth $150.
$200 is too much.
You'd be better off with newer parts. Lower end newer parts are generally a better buy than lower end older parts.
>>
>>51472751
What the fuck is that
Fallout4? No chance if that's what you mean.
>>
>my budget is around $5000 mexican pesos

lawl
>>
what kinda graphics card will do well enough with "light" modern gaming?
i'm getting a i5 4690 for sure and dont really want to shell out more than 100-150 for a gpu.

thinking maybe around 1.12Ghz..
>>
>>51474048
>thinking maybe around 1.12Ghz..
>1.12Ghz
Is this some kind of meme?
>>
Seriously, just save up a little bit more for a better GPU. It's not worth it to buy very low end hardware, especially GPUs. I'm sure that for ~$50 more you can get a card that performs several times better than that garbage. I know you're poor, but if you can't save up $50 you should probably kill yourself.
>>
>>51474048
Better get a CPU with an onboard graphics card like
http://www.amazon.com/AMD-A4-7300-Processor-Graphics-AD7300OKHLBOX/dp/B00MU00HGK
>>
>>51474109
the fuck man i dont know anything about gpu's
im just asking if it will run a modern game at 30 fps on max settings or something.
>>
>>51474280

oh wait you're serious

>>51474287

not even close.

list your exact parts here w/ price and maybe someone will suggest something better. http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/

lol im just looking for a decent gpu
im going to be programming in linux 85% of the time with the other 15% dicking around in fallout 4

That one as fast as the derpbuild?
Just drop the 4690 for a 4460/4590 and spend more on the gpu...

OP, if suggest trying to save another 2~3000 pesos and going g3258, 8gb ram, 750ti or 950, and using a many parts from your current build as possible

Not OP here.
I recently bought this:

i5 4690k
8gb ram
Msi Z97 Pc Mate (cant remember if actually this one)
620w bronze+ psu
1tb hdd and another 1tb external

Now I want to buy a new gpu
I could maybe stretch to a 250€ budget for it.
What do you suggest?
Portugal fag here

Also, is a ssd a good upgrade?
>>
Pedro check this out

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/QpRDYJ

Is a good 1080p machine.
>>
>>51475507
SSD is a good upgrade, but if you lower the €250 to €160 to add a ssd you're going to lose a lot of performance. Should've thought this through from the start... Like dropping the internal storage for a ssd...
>>
>>51475297
This is pretty much the best you can get for $300.
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/GqQp6h

It will run Fallout 4 playable but not perfectly.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CemgT0fg_pI
>>
>>51475528
Different anon but here's an Intel version that would perform better, for 20$ less http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ZKdBCJ
>>
>>51475625
>No fps counter
Into the trash it goes
>>
>>51472281
I bought a Dell refurb on sale plus coupon, was with an older gen i5 2500 and 4gb ram for $200. Bought a 750ti from newegg for $80 and 4gb extra ram for another $15. Comes to $295 and competes great with newer consoles. Shop around
>>
>>51475599
Im not planning on adding a ssd right now
Was just asking
I got this 1tb hdd for 20€
And as much as I would like to have a ssd since the start, I needed "real" storage. And ssd's are expensive.
So I prefered the hdd

So, for 250€, what is the best gpu?
Forget about the ssd for now, the gpu is the priority
>>
>>51475801
Second hand 290(X).
>>
>>51475840
If only I could find a second hand one
Or not get scammed

I was thinking about the msi gaming r9 380 4gb one before.
>>
>>51476190
That one's ok, but performs quite a bit worse than a 290...
Yesterday an anon snagged two 290 tri-xes for 200 and 210 dollar.
>>
>>51476237
Damn... If only I had the same luck
Going to look after the used 290
If no deal, then 380 it is

After a really Quick looking, I found this
What do you think?
>>
>>51476369
That's a 280X.
>>
>>51476404
Yes I know
But its a nice card for 1080 right?
And for the price?
>>
>>51476604
Comparable to a 380. Tad bit faster.
190€ is too much for a second hand card, no way. Even with warranty I wouldn't touch it.
>>
>>51476657
Well the guy who is selling it says he can negotiate the price
How much do you think it is worth?
Still with warranty
>>
>>51476729
How long?
170€ for near full warranty, 130€ if its almost out of warranty.
>>
Hey guys what would you say is the best combination of Motherboard + CPU + RAM to buy with 250 Euros?

i absolutely have to upgrade my computer but cant afford much.
>>
>>51476750
Save some more for a 300€ 4590 kit.
>>
>>51476743
Warranty is only till the end of the year
>>
>>51476790
4590 kit? mind explaining? I'm just starting to get back into this , i've lost touch with everything.
>>
>>51476824
CPU is by far the most important.
Get a 4590 or a 4460 if it's a lot cheaper, about the cheapest motherboard you can find and the cheapest 1600Mhz 8GB RAM you can find.

>>51476806
Lowball him 130 and raise to 140, maybe 150 but absolutely no more.
>>
Hey guise hows this http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Cf2X8d
>>
>>51476858
will having a cheap-ass motherboard have no effect on my computer's performance? and what about upgradability?

Also I was thinking about getting an AMD CPU since they're so much fucking cheaper - i thought the price margin would allow me to get better ram and a better motherboard. Is this noob thinking?
>>
>>51472281
>Mexican

sorry, you don't deserve a PC
>>
>>51476917
It will, but it will not result in more performance.
Motherboards do not matter for intel if you're not going to OC. I ran a 3770K on a cheapass M-ATX board, like 38€, and aside from the OC loss I did not notice a loss in performance.
At all.
It did look funny with my 780Ti.

>>51476894
>2x 1TB
Just get a damn 2TB.

I really dislike the SPEC-02 as I think it's shit performance/price but that's personal. Reconsider it though.
>>
>>51476985
I see. And do Intel CPU's pose so much of a significant advantage over AMD's to make having a shit motherboard and mediocre ram with an INTEL better than a good motherboard and good ram with an AMD ?
>>

Is an r9 290 tri-x good for maxed out gaming on 2560 x 1080? And is €250 a good deal for one? I was planning to get a gtx980, but that costs €600 here.
>>
>>51477063
Well, intel is still more expensive than AMD but it sure does soften the gap.

>>51477095
No, 290X will not cut it for 2560x1080 maxed out.
€250,- is an ok deal, I've seen better.
>>
>>51477130
Thank you, I guess I'll have to pay up, or just try to score a deal on a gtx 980.
>>
In this price range, you'd honestly be better off getting an AMD APU OP.
>>
>>51477130
wait i got confused there. I mean is it worth it having a quad-core 3.4 ghz CPU and shitty MB / ram just because it's intel - instead of having say an FX - 8320 with a decent MB / ram ?
>>
>>51477225
Yes.
As much as I want AMD to succeed reality's different.
>>
>>51477130
Could a titan (original titan) handle 2560 x 1080 maxed out? And I can get one for €275, is that a good deal?
>>
>>51477391
No and no. A 290 = Titan.
You can look this up yourself.
>>
>>51477438
Ow ok, seems like the 980 is my only option.
>>
>>51477471
Is a 980 enough btw? Never asked this did I?
>>
>>51475130
I know it's pesos and that amount ain't shit for a pc build, mine cost £570 ($14300) and it isn't exactly extravagant by any means
I also already had a monitor and keyboard
>>
>>51477491
60 fps... yeah... mostly...
>>
>>51477491
Ok, I've googled it and it seems like a 980 oc'ed to around 1550 is perfect for 2560 x 1080 maxed out.
>>
Don't want to make a new thread, but I have about 500$ (us dollars) to start with. But will have up to 1000$ later. What should I buy now during black friday/cyber Monday to save up? I am moving on from console quality so playing games at 30 fps at about high to ultra is alright with me.
>>
>>51477225
Depends what you use it for, really. If you do a lot of compression/video encoding/etc that can trivially scale to 8 threads, an overclocked 8320 still beats an i5 at stock clocks. Otherwise? Yeah, the i5 is going to perform better at pretty much everything. The RAM has negligible effect on raw performance(unless you use iGPU) and the motherboard has pretty much NO effect on the performance(save for overclocking).

That is, if you look at just the performance. Of course, you should also ask yourself whether that shitty motherboard has all the features you want/need, like enough PCI-e lanes and USB ports. And obviously shitty cheap parts are more likely to crap themselves, if you mean to keep the same system for a long time.
>>
>>51475632
Some games require a minimum of 4 cores or they wont even load.
>>
>>51479575
That's totally bullshit.
G3258 has been tested and works great for nearly every new AAA title. A quick Google search would tell you this.

It doesnt work on GTA5 for one.

Just telling you that future games will start requiring 4 cores.
>>
>>51477186
True this, spend the extra money you would be spending on a gpu on some higher clock speed ram, it makes a difference in apu graphics performance.
>>
>>51472614
If you recommend a console at least recommend PS4 and not that microsoft garbage
>>
isn't the i3 4170 the best poor person cpu? it doesn't have true 4 cores but hyper threading should still allow you to run gta5 and whatnot, no? seems like great price/performance as far as i can tell desu
>>
>>51472281
Buy a refurbished optiplex 390 that's not USFF and throw a gtx 750 in it. Cheap, decent, easy.
