Not too bad really. I've not been paying close attention to it lately but I have noticed that it seems to stutter between 15 and 25 seconds. The accuracy has improved since I received it too, initially it gained around 40 seconds a day but now it's down to ~15 seconds. Not bad for a £20 meme.

Also, a big part of wearing a watch is knowing you could afford what you're wearing. Maybe I'm not phrasing that correctly, but the point is when I look at the Seiko on my wrist, I see a real, well built watch that inhad enough disposable income to afford. It was only $150 or so, but it's still an extravagance I bought for myself. If I were wearing a fake Rolex, I'd be checking my time on a lie, trying to project an image of someone more valuable than I actually am. It's just a shitty way to approach life, it screams insecurity.

I actually do not really have much desire for a chronograph. While my job requires me to time a series of tasks in 0.10 hour intervals, ie the perfect chronograph job, I hate most of them due to the busy factor. I also like being able to wear a variety of watches from day to day. The stopwatch allows me to do that.
A Seiko 6138 like the OP pic would work brilliantly, beautiful watch, shame about the ticking time bomb movement. This Stowa's also nice.

Panerai does have some in-house movements but ETA is not in-house. ETA is owned by the Swatch Group and Panerai is owned by Richemont. Also they are ridiculously overpriced. They charge $5,000 USD for a Unitas 6497 movement while I can get a watch from Steinhart with the same base movement for about $400 USD. A slightly longer power reserve and COSC certification is not worth $4,600 more.

Panerai is probably the single most extreme example of a craven marketing driven mountain jew dollar extraction scheme in modern watchmaking history. They were literally charging several thousands of dollars for cheap off the shelf ETA movements in very simple to make and finish cases.
Someone on /wt/ once maligned Omega by describing them as trying to be 95% of Rolex pricing while putting in 50% of Rolex effort. By that metric Panerai has only put in ~20% of the effort at most. The rest was spent on marketing and celebrity endorsements to honeytrap clueless normies.

Yes. It's a nice feature on a non-digital watch. Much more difficult to make.
The downside is if it's mechanical you have to keep it running or you're going to have a bad time trying to reset it after it stops. If it's quartz you're going to have a bad time resetting it after you change the battery.

Annual calendar accounts for the length of each month except for leap years, so you ideally only need to adjust it once every 4 years. Perpetual calendar adds a leap year adjustment so it should be correct for a long time.
