This is true, that's web development. More interesting jobs are working on back end of a web server while also creating (or using an existing) front end framework to accomplish a given task. The only valid javascript programmers that aren't just web developers are the ones building actual web apps and not just designing a page or layout using existing jquery scripts and what not.
