Cleaning time, /g/.
Already did a bit on the numpad.
I had a keyboard like that. Brings back memories.
It was nowhere near as filthy of course.
Use whatever works, right?
>>51448899
jesus christ just trash the keyboard and buy a new one
it can't be worth more than $5
>>51448899
I have an EL1852G, does this keyboard go to that?
I just did this to my old Logitech G15 I don't even use anymore. Just had an autism attack and before I knew it I was well into the night going through every key brushing the grimy shit off them. It became clean as fuck though. Collectively there must've been at least 100 grams of ball hair, dead skin, food bits, cum, coke and some nasty shit like that.
The powerwashing feature on my sink did most of the work.
Emphasis on "most."
ALPHABET SOUP LOLOLOL
>emachines
Nice of you to wash and clean recyclables before binning them.
>>51449267
Kill yourself
Opened it up--going to need more q tips, captain.
Just one more step. (I just power washed it instead.
Why we all bought one.
All of the plastic will warp and refuse to clip properly, just watch.
Keep going.
wtf is going on here?
>wasting all this time cleaning a membrane keyboard
wtf op just buy a new one
Continue, OP
Just an update to demonstrate the time here. Have to remember to keep moving my hand while posting.
>Cleaning a membrane keyboard
Why
>>51449621
This could all be prevented if people would perform the routine maintenance themselves, and stop eating at their desk. I found several staples and a hairpin also in this while popping keys off.
>>51449496
what if we dont have one of these?
>>51449666
Oh my
>>51449666
just fucking gold
>>51449666
>>51449666
Well OP, get to work
>>51449666
satan demands
>>51449666
Now we are talking.
>>51449707
gonna do it?
>>51449666
Do it, OP.
>>51449598
Reminder that IBM Model M is a membrane keyboard.
OP is a fucking faggot cleaning a keyboard dirtied by someone else and he won't even cum on it.
>>51449666
Devilish.
U n i m p r e s s i v e .
>>51449666
>>51449805
Is that real man juice?
Back to work. Some of the isopropyl got under the membrane.

Your penis looks odd.

>>5144980
You may proceed.
>>51449833
Not a penis, moderino.
>>51449805
>>51449821
Are you going to lube the keys?
>>51449835
Do I even want to know?
>>51449849
kek, is that some sort of attachment?
Forgot to put the rubber dome pad back on first. Whoops.
>>51449899
It still looks somewhat dusty.
>>51449805
Came to /g/ by accident, ended up here. I think I'll stay.
>>51449942
Imagine if my flash worked.
Seems to be coming together, though.
I just soak everything in isopropyl alcohol for 15 seconds and pass a towel on them.
If you have a spare shit keyboard lying around I suggest putting a screwdriver between two rows and sliding it horizontally across the keyboard
>>51448995
>Ball hair
nigga do you pull on it like you're playing tug of war with your crotch?
Geez I just get crumbs in mine.
The page up and M slots still need to cool down, as they are sticking; the F slot did this for a while, until I came back to it.
The unfortunate news, comrades, is that my keyboard is missing its period. I cannot make this up; I jizzed on a keyboard and made it pregnant. Time to go check the sink.
Good news and bad news:
I found the period key on the floor under a desk.
Alas, some warping seems to have happened on the M and Page Up (pictured here, lower right) slots. Should I reheat it and try to mold them?
Here goes nothing.
>>51450383
How did this happen?
I would think heat has a good chance of making things worse.
alright
>>51450516
Word of warning, my cousin managed to melt her keyboard after drying it with a hair dryer. I did have a picture of it all melted and warped but I can't seem to find it, it was very /g/ tier humor.
>>51450648
Do all of the keys still work?
>>51450760
they did before I took it apart, I will have to let the top part dry for a while
did you break yours?
>>51450789
The only keyboard I've ever broken was the back lighting on a Dell laptop's keyboard back when I was young and stupid.
It was very thin and had a tendency to flex outwards, I was trying to bend it into shape but managed to break the back light part. It would only light up when pressed down hard.
Thank goodness for ebay and the surplus amounts of parts people sell.
>>51450853
there isnt too much electronics in here that could break or is glued to other parts, luckily
Another update; heat forming did not do it well enough for me. Dremel time.
Good job jinxing myself.
>>51450944
What are you trying to do actually? I can understand the hot air station for drying it off but what is the dremal for?
>>51450990
I already dried it. The M and Page Up slots have been warped by the heat, and I tried re-using the hot air station, but was unable to properly reform the slots. They still currently because I, as I said before while drying it, unfortunately warped the slots while applying heat. I will wait a couple of hours and retry.
HEY, DOES THIS KEY SLOT LOOK A LITTLE BORED TO YOU?
>>51451779
Doesn't look too good.
Also, "nice" keycaps.
Aftermath: Clean!
The M key will fall out if you shake it enough.
>>51451872
It works?
>>51451884
I do not have a serial to USB connector. Perhaps I will return the keyboard to its owner and make a post from there.
>>51451896
You melted it and its not even yours!? Are you being payed?
>>51451896
you came on, and melted someone elses keyboard.
Why am I on this imageboard
>>51451935
The keyboard works perfectly; I fixed it. The only new feature is that the M key is much more modular, now, but only in inverted gravity.
I took this picture while washing the keys, and I thought I would share it for you guys; this board has plenty of problems, but threads like these are why I keep coming back.
/g/ is our Home.

For posterity, this was the >666 post.

So who owns this e machines typing piece?
>>51452017
A family member.
Emphasis on "member."
