I received a one plus x invite how bad is the lte issue, because I would be using it on At&tt. Is it the same issue the one plus one had. Should I buy it?
>>
No you shouldn't buy it if you're in the US. Can i have your invite please
>>
>>51419059
i've got oneplus one myself and not sure if it is a upgrade worth doing so i'm getting one for my sister
>>
They must be doing a round of invites. I got two invites from both my email addresses, but I'm also in the US and want fucking LTE.
>>
i live in europe and i currently dont use lte. but the x is pretty nice, got it 2 days ago. i really like it
>>
>>51420114
you can't share those invites
that invite can only be claimed with your email
>>
>>51420144
Oh, well I'm retarded.
Whoops.
>>
How bad is the LTE issue? I got an invite as well, and this phone is perfect for me price wise. I need an upgrade from my 1.5 year old Moto G LTE.
>>
>>51420229
OP here for the same decision, have a moto g 1.5 yr old as well
>>
>>51420229
>need an upgrade from my LTE

You are in for a big disappointment.
>>
>>51420229
It entirely depends on what carrier you have and what their 3G coverage is.
>>
I just got one an invite this morning too and was about to make this same thread... You saved me the bother.
>>
>>51420405
ITS 2009 AGAIN
>>
>>51420371
Well, I guess that's enough for me to rule this one out. What are some good alternatives? Is the Sony M4 Aqua good?
>>
>>51420229

Metro PCS outside of Dallas, no LTE issues
>>
I'm pretty happy with mine. However Oxygen OS clashes a little bit with launchers. Also it took a while to get the phone to recognise the micro SD card.
>>
I don't have 3g or LTE, Is this a good phone otherwise?
>>

>OnePlus One
Thread is about the OnePlus X and its lack of LTE bands for two of the four major American carriers.
>>
Isn't the Oneplus One missing the same bands? Shouldn't the X function just the same as the One on T Mobile? Or am I missing something here?

Hey nerds, I got an invite the other day. I think it's still valid. Does anyone want it?
>>
>>51419059
>Is it the same issue the one plus one had

No one is answering this.
>>
>>51422871
Yeah it'll work fine with T-Mobile LTE, but won't support the newer 700Mhz spectrum which only really new/high end phones support. Not going to be an issue unless you live in a really rural area. No LTE at all if you're on AT&T though.
>>
>>51423087
>>51422871
OnePlus One lacks Band 20, which is used in rural Europe.
>>
>>51423165
Oh, and it lacks Band 12, the T-mobile band that they're pushing more. It does, however, have Band 17, AT&T's band, which the OPX also lacks.
>>
If I already have a Oneplus One, is it worth getting the X? I got an invite, and I really like the size and design, but I don't like the smaller battery.
>>
>>51423342
You can probably break even at the very least if you don't like the OPX and resell it. Smaller battery shouldn't be an issue if you properly configure the device to fully utilize that AMOLED display (themes and wallpapers are dark as my soul)

I have one, been using it for a week now.

I love it, it's such a great phone for the money. It's quicker than my mother's Galaxy S6 (because TouchWizz).
Battery life isn't fantastic, but it's passable.

>they sent me a canadian one

>4G doesn't work because muh bands
Can I send it back and get a working one, or will they just flat out say no?
>>
>>51419059
been wondering this as well, currently i am using a nexus 4, would this be a good upgrade?
>>
I keep reading conflicting things about T Mobile's band 12. Is it only used in really rural areas? Or are they going to begin switching their entire network over to it? I've been told both.
>>
>Have a windows phone
>Just got invite
Do i do it /g/?
>>
>>51423733
If you like the design of the N4, don't mind no wireless charging and NFC, then this is the only direct upgrade.

Some rural areas are band 2 (T-Mobile converted a lot of 2G zones to band 2 lte over the last 2 years), but all future rural areas will be band 12 I believe.

If you're already getting good service with a band 2 and 4 phone on T-Mobile then there isn't a reason to worry about the OPX. My iPhone 6+ is doing just fine and it doesnt have band 12, and the rural area where my friends and family live are band 2 so it doesnt matter to me. Band 12 is really just being added to areas (no current towers will be converted away from 2/4) for better coverage indoors.

Another issue for T-Mobile is that some areas are still using the 1700/2100 Mhz AWS for HSPA+, although a lot have been converted to 1900 Mhz over the last few years. Not an issue if you get LTE everywhere you go though obviously. It's rare that I drop off LTE anymore on T-Mobile and they're getting better every day.

AT&T users are pretty fucked though, the OPX will do better on T-Mobile overall imo.

Oneplus should have added band 12 and 17 though, no excuse for any phone made these days to not support pretty much every band. It literally costs an extra $0.25 (not even probably) to add.

Fuck the one plus x, got an invite today also but too late. LG G3 for me boys also it was significantly less
