Why shouldn't I?
>>
Dust, noise.
>>
Because it would be less effective than having a fan in your case.
>>
>>51414907
Not sure if thats true. This fan is considerably bigger and can displace considerably more heated air
>>
>>51414907
Prove it

>>51414904
I suppose it would just pile all the dirt onto the back of the case, but still way better at heat dissipation

box fan is better
>>
>>51414897
Because if you need that much cooling air onto your components, you're a retard and need to buy a NUC.
>>
>>51414919
It is bigger, but it is designed to move air around a larger area.
>>
>>51414897
i personally wouldn't because i'm not a nigger and i can both afford and care to afford a more reasonable/ reasonable looking solution. as for why you shouldn't? i dunno got nothing, if that's really how you want to handle a problem like this go ahead you pleb
>>
What's stopping you?
>>
>>51414937
leaving the front open and blocking the far side would push the dirt out....maybe?

>>51414945
Just interested in the theoretical. Companies will sell you anything if you let them.

If you've got no space or noise requirement, you should get a fan like this:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centrifugal_fan

You can pick em up at Home Depot and similar stores, painters and construction workers use em. I used to use it in a band practice room, worked like 100 times better than all the crap we tried before.

I dunno what the CFM is on mine but it'll blow papers off a desk from 30+ feet away. Also EXCELLENT for cooling hot food, just don't leave it too close or it'll blow it off the plate

>>

Your CPU fan won't tell you "thanks" for that.
>>
>>51415233
how much power does that rig need? how loud is it?
>can it fly
>>
>>51414897
Eh... you CAN...

Most of the time nothing will happen.

Honestly, you'd want a box fan to pull air OUT of the case, and vents on the front and back of the case, so that it can actually have a FLOW of air, not just kinda move it around in there.

Of course the case isn't vacuum sealed... so either way it'll work fine more than likely.

Laptops and tablets are the future.

I have become the embodiment of the fan.

I have become the fan itself, the destroyer of heat.
>>
>>51415233
I'm a fan of that case
>>
It would waste too much power
>>
>>51415424
Indoor planes are boring they are basically just electrical engines with some atuff attached where aerodynamic does not really matter.
>>
>>51415233
Unlimited Fan Works.
>>
People always get caught up on fans...

2-3 for the case is all you need (depends on the case). If you need better cooling then turn up the RPM or get some decent fans.
>>
there's nothing 'reasonable' about these itty bitty little fans we have on our computer hardware.

they're all shit compared to a larger diameter fan.
>>
>>51418055

140mm are the best at the moment. Quiet and push a lot of air while still keeping the case a reasonable size.
>>
>>51414897
I actually did that during summer 2003 when it was 35°C during the night and my AMD palomino build reached >100°C temps when playing ragnarok online. Good days.
>>
>>51418068

or you could have the side of the case be one 12 inch fan with a filter in front of it which moves a fuck ton more air.
>>
>>51418100

Fuck that, too loud. A friend of mine has a case like that, 3x 200mm fans and it sounds like a fucking aeroplane. Putting it at a lower RPM has barely any airflow.
>>
>>51414897
ITT: UNDERAGE FAGS WHO CAN'T INTO PHYSICS
DOING THIS WILL CREATE AN AIRFLOW PRESSURE DIFFERENCE THAT WILL DIMINISH THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ALL COOLING SYSTEMS INSIDE AND RENDER THE SYSTEM TO CRITICAL OVERHEATING ISSUES.
>>
>>51418100
shitty airflow tho senpai
>>
>>51418119

but that's bullshit though.
>>
>>51418119
You literally don't know what you're talking about.
>>
>>51414897
Because it is blowing hot air you fucking retard. Fans only work on us because of a wind chill effect caused by the hair on our body.
>>
>>51418424
But anon, there's no hair on heatsinks.
>>
>>51418451
I am saying thats why it won't work
>>
I love seeing ingenius solutions to heat issues
>>
>>51418456
So if we put hair on heatsinks?
>>
>>51418485
You know what? That might just work.
>>
>>51418494

curly or straight?
>>
>>51418498
curly seems better imo
>>
>>51418494
Finally I know what the hair on my head, armpits and crotch is for.
>>
>>51418498
I would go with straight, curly doesn't follow the law of thermodynamics the same way straight hair does.
>>
I actually did this and it worked, but I only did it for a week or so until my new CPU fan arrived.

50 degrees C with the fan
70+ degrees without it

Lets say each 80mm fan needs 300mA @ 12v and there are 50 fans on that case, that would be 0.3 x 50 = 15 amps x 12v = 180 watts.

As for the noise well my brother has 7 120mm fans in his gaymen rig and that is loud enouth, so that thing must be like a jet.
>>
>>51418960

enough* sorry I've got a nasty headache.

>>51418473
ehh, I have been doing this to my shitty hp laptop. that fucking piece of crap has been overheating even from using just the browser
>>
>>51418473
kek, do you live in an oven?
>>
when lanning at a m8s house i used his old beast laptop - the only problem is it overheated

so i used a pedestal fan, sat on the edge of a chair and had it blowing upwards into the laptop

the additional benefit is the cool breeze on my testicals
>>
>>51418519
AAAAAAAHHH
>>
>>51414945
Affording something and having it on hand are not the same thing. As a temporary solution it works well enough. Permanently, not so much.

And let me guess, you're under 25 and already drowning in credit card debt. Poor people are generally the ones with your "hurt hur I can afford shit" attitude. The wealthy are wealthy for a reason, and that's because they don't let themselves end up owing 18% interest on a candy bar they purchased 15 years ago.

>le old housefire meme XDDDDD
>>
>>51419032
It's called open it and clean the fucking dust and maybe apply new thermal paste dumbass
>>
The only reason you should not do that, is that you can get front to back fan setup for better airflow. But its not significant.

>>51414904
Since the fan blows stronger and there is more airflow, dust is less of a issue.
The extra volume of air from the fan also means you don't need to run any of the internal components with active cooling on their own.

>>51414945
The non nigger variant is to install a giant fan into the casing. Maybe solder some wire on the inside to make it look like its still a casing.
