Does that automatically mean Nvidia cards are performing "worse"? I see every card performing as they should be based on raw hardware specs: AMD's flagships just below Nvidia flagships, and middle, upper-middle range AMD cards above comparable Nvidia cards. I'm curious as to what sort of graphics AMD could drill hard to the detriment of Nvidia, like Nvidia's Gameworks burning AMD cards. I have never seen nor heard of AMD doing the same.

I'd say they could take advantage of the better capacity that AMD cards have to crunch numbers. They're much better at that than any Nvidia card. Honestly, DX12 already uses the computing capabilities far more than DX11, so you'll probably see, at least with the current gen GPUs, a lot of difference between the two. Unless, of course, more Goyworks comes into play.
