Except 8.1 literally took you back to the metro and 10 has a god awful start menu
At least Classic shell doesn't have Cortana built in.

I never, ever used the metro menu on 8/8.1, everything I use was already pinned, just like on windows 7.

It actually resets their default applications on every new build, not just the massive update.
Enough cries for user experience and they'll change it.
Sucks because jpegview doesn't come up in the suggested image default, so I'm having to have too set it manually fie each image extension every build
