What's the point desu?

What it means to become ruby? I thought ruby was a hip language?

Ruby was hip six years ago because it was new and shiny and Twitter used it.

Now, companies pretty much realize that past the "Look at us, we're a startup" phase you need
But sooner or later you realize things like threading, concurrency, and memory caching are important, and then you switch to un-sexy, but functional Java (like Twitter).

Bah, phone post. I knew I typed that fucking first sentence, but it didn't display in the text box.

Couldn't they get that with jruby?

node.js has no future. web 1.0 was objectively better.

No.
Node.js excels at what JS excelled at: Event driven programs which eat up very little in cpu time.

>web.asm
You faggots keep talking about this shit like you understand anything.
web.asm has been done in many different forms (Applets, PNaCl, asm.js) and Brendan Eich knows this.
He wanted something that was small and standard.
That being said, he isn't designing a runtime for any other language, and web.asm will more than likely be used the same as asm.js.
Nobody is going to visit your shit site and wait 5 mins to download some faggot C runtime that you neckbeards have made.

JS will not die because it was designed for the browser, and does extremely well in the browser.
This is still true today, for example, ECMA6 modules will hook into HTTP 2.0 so that servers can just "push" modules when requested. Think webpack, but native and fast.
