Pretty sure gimp has all the options Photoshop has, though. I will say that Gimp lacks most third party *paid* plugins, but that's only because of greed desu.
Any options that Photoshop has can be recreated in Gimp, they're just better organized and more simplified. For instance; there isn't a circle tool in Gimp, but you can easily make a circle with the circle select tool. I'd say Gimp is doing pretty well for a completely free, open-source image editor.

I just had to look into it, and there are third party scripts, or more drawn-out methods to produce this effect. Goes with my argument of Photoshop just making things simpler.
That's the reason people hate Gimp I think, they don't like it's ugly, hard to navigate interface. I've spent way too much time with it, so I can find and do pretty much everything in it, but anyone new is gonna hate getting used to it. I feel like it's still worth it, considering it's lack of a price tag.

Yeh I use gimp too, I was just saying there are certainly advantages to photoshop. I run it (pirated obviously) in wine for things like that since there's no pitch perfect way to replicate that setting in gimp

I'd also use it if I could think of something that it offers me that Gimp doesn't. I actually might have to download it eventually, because some Nintendo SDK tools for texture modification only work in Photoshop. Ya know, another paid third party plugin that Gimp lacks.
But until I actually feel like using that, Gimp offers everything I need. I'm fine.

Terminus as a general-use font is kind of crap and those colors are kind of naff.
Also, Window Maker kind of loses its appeal and purpose once the nice dock and tiles are gone, you could achieve the same look with another window manager that's more customizable if you're going to get rid of all the things that make Window Maker worthwhile (eg, the fact that it's got a couple of DE-like features even though it's crazy light).
