This clock widget that came with my launcher is pretty good
I use the Event Flow Widget for my calendar and Weather Timeline for my weather.
Besides that, I just use the factory HTC clock widget.

Form clock widget and Muzei live wallpaper is an absolute match.
Muzei allows you to have multiple wallpapers at a changed interval and FORM clock widget can changes its according to the wallpaper that your phone has set or you can set custom colors on your own

I'm using nova launcher, there's a setting in there that lets you hide it. I personally prefer it hidden and a top screen notification pop up for when I do receive notifications. Gives it more space to show off the screen and whatever you're looking at.
