I was then I got a new kernel update and it fucked my system up hard. Then I just went back to 3.19
>>51295328
Bullshit unless you're using testing kernels.
>>51295516
>>>>51294247 here. I reinstalled gentoo fairly recently, and I fucked up my OS because I tried to use the hardened kernel instead of the gentoo-sources one. It fucks up your OS because lot of processes need access to some kind of resource, and since RBAC protects most of them there's a lot of whitelisting to be done there. So I switched to the gentoo sources and was happy with it. When I will have a server somewhere, I'll set up hardened gentoo on it. But maintaining something similar on desktop seems like a lot of timewasting.

Why not just build the latest kernel (or latest distro git release) and use that? Just use your existing config from /boot and make the deb-pkg target, or uses the fakeroot debian/rules to make the generic images..

Anyone who isn't on babby's first Linux has had it for ages anon, please delete this thread to avoid further embarrassment.

What's the point of a newer kernel over the latest, tested, stable version?

Their own fault. There's no reason to use Linux regularly if you're not autistic.
>>51295516
It was the ubuntu generic version but the 4.2.18 just fixed the problem

what's wrong with using Antergos? It is literally just a GUI Installer + an extra repo.
