Anything is better than Google Play Music. I don't know what drugs the devs were on when they designed that interface. Horrible use of screen space, not clearly defining what's in your library and what isn't, etc. Only reason I use it is for YouTube Red. Otherwise, Spotify is light years better.

Spotify is by far the best streaming app if we're excluding SoundCloud.

Just installed it this morning and it's very nice. It'll take a month or two of fiddling with it to come to a definitive conclusion, but so far it feels much, much nicer than Google Play Music.

I hope this gets Google to step up their game. There are bugs in Google Play Music that have existed for years.

Shills and faggots, all of you.
Seriously I have never heard of a more autistic, brain dead, cancerous, and toxic person than you faggots.

The difference between flac and mp3 is clear, and you can't find mp3's in a remastered and 6 channel music. Why? Because lossy codecs are shit. I'm also not talking about puny compressed 30MB flac files, I'm talking quarter GB files per song. And in today's society, with 200GB SD cards for cheap, you have no excuse to listen to lossy files. And yes 200GB is not enough, but if you move your favorite/most listened songs, you will be fine.

Also phones these days have a decent amp, which can drive many audiophile headphones, especially if you have an external amp.

You didn't answer the question of WHY. Who the hell would casually listen to music using their phone and audiophile headphones? That's what your PC and DAC are for. And you probably can't store your whole library on your phone if it's lossless.

Use lossy on your phone because it passes blind tests at much lower bit rates. Use lossless on your computer for archival purposes.

There are portable DAC/amps, and there are DAP's as well, ever heard of them? Nowadays there are even phones like LG V10 with hi-fi audio.

Yes, it's possible, however, it's incredibly hit or miss. Because the developers are jews and do whatever is in their might to stop people from pirating it, for example, every now and then it checks to see if your copy is legit (and for some reason, people have a really hard time cracking it).

This is actually a collasal fuckup by apple.
Apple sheep are under the mindset Apple only release products of the utmost quality and only deals with the most premium brands.
By releasing on android they are saying that Android has their stamp of approval and is an acceptable mobile OS.

They don't understand how delicate a cult of personality like this is to maintain, especially when the original idol is dead. Its only a matter of time before the bubble pops.
>>
>>51286446

>>51286216
Most lossless codecs are much less expensive to decode than lossy codecs, there's quite a few benchmarks comparing FLAC to MP3/Vorbis/AAC at Rockbox
Though I doubt there would be a difference in any modern phone
>>
>>51286446
I have read some applefags complaining about it already and saying that Steve Jobs would have never let that happen, so you could be right.
>>
>>51286555
Steve Jobs allowed iTunes on Windows and it secured Apple's take over on the music industry. Of the other numerous questionable actions Apple has made, releasing Apple Music for Android is the closest move Jobs would have approved.

Can anyone answer my question on iTunes Match?
>>
anyone having trouble signing in?
>>
>>51286601
Windows has, a much larger market share than OSX, and consider you REQUIRE itunes to use ipods and Itouches, it was kind of either that, or give us the ability to use it as a mass storage device.
Apple can live without sharing its music service.

One of the most important selling points for a music streaming service is the selection of songs. There's no doubt that Apple Music wins here, and by a long shot too. Apple Music offers 30 million songs including Taylor Swift's newest singles, which are not available to stream on any other service.

Its about convenience.
You don't have to worry about syncing your music or having enough space or any of that shit.
Its just immediately available on any device you use AND you can instantly listen to any song whenever you want. And with playlists and such you can constantly listen to new music whenever.
If you're some autist who only listens to 100 different songs over and over again then obviously it's not for you.
>>
Could anyone explain how someone would get a master or lossless copy of a song? I'm kind of new but am interested in listening to higher quality music.

I'm curious, why do you need 6 channels on the audio files on your phone? Do you connect a home cinema on it, or do you have a pair of headphones that can use the 6 channels?
Really curious, I can understand folks who want the best quality possible, but stereo should be enough on a phone, no?

They're in PRISM, but OS X doesn't actively phone home. The most it really does is send minor shit to Apple when the computer's About-box is opened, allegedly. This data is clearly inconsequential or for statistics as I've been doing it on generic Intel hardware as well as in-house Apple hardware for years.
Also, I'd take stuff said anyone who calls a company's users "sheep" with a grain of salt (if they're even serious at all). Apple's market share isn't that huge, despite what goes on in the fedora-fantasyland inside the heads of contrarians. The term, "sheep", albeit worn-out and stupid, would better describe proponents and users of whatever had the biggest presence in the market, not niche stuff that people who made you upset just happen to use.

Streaming and curation. Yes, these are awesome. If you don't think so, you've probably never had them.

>>51282673

FLAC is an archival format. You're not meant to be carrying it around on your fucking phone. Your phone's DAC probably can't even do it justice. You're just wasting your effort and your space. I understand when people complain that iTunes on Mac doesn't have FLAC support, but this is just dumb as hell.

>>51285109

No, you retard. FLAC is much better than any phone DAC can actually output. Carrying it around with you is literally a waste. Even if your phone *could* output it, you'd also have to connect it to an audio output device that could do it justice, or you're still wasting your time.

>>51285660

Absolute bullshit. Car stereos shape and distort like fucking crazy. And even if your speakers could do FLAC justice, road noise would cover up the difference anyway.

>>51283059
>>51283074

I own a whole lot of Apple products (and enjoy them), but I want to be fair to Android here. If you're one of the people who's still on JB or earlier, odds are you're one of those normies who never, ever downloads an app. Yes, they do exist. Lots of them.

>>51284896
>If it plays something else, it's defective.

Not at all. There's a lot of value in exploring new music along the lines of what you already enjoy. I've branched out a ton over the years using GPM, and now Apple Music. Similar Artist maps on what.cd just aren't as good.

>>51285921

Good question. Absolutely nothing of note, unless you use Macs too.
