is this a bait?
I'm not sure because i'm using emacs so i don't know if vim really is laggy, but i guess it isn't because roughly same number of people use emacs and vim
why did i lose so much time on a thread i think is a bait, i don't know, fuck

We're very sorry that you can't afford anything better than a 286 processor.

Try Neovim: https://github.com/neovim/neovim

Even if Vim wasn't slow and laggy sometimes, it's a managed by creepy old man (employed by jewgle) who spends time with young nigger kids in africa doing "charity".

try neovim (https://github.com/neovim/neovim) or one of these builds if you're on (64-bit) windows https://tuxproject.de/projects/vim/x64/

Bram's official builds are shit tbqh

is neovim completely compatible with existing vim plugins, including pathogen?

Can confirm, while I'm coming from the full fledged emacs corner, I find myself escaping into evil mode more and more. Spacemacs makes it quite easy to use it either ways.

yes

No bait. I mean bare vim isn't laggy itself. But when you add in autocomplete, a plugin to match html tags, syntax checkers, etc. it becomes horrible on anything above like 200 lines.

And spacemacs is cool, it's what I'm learning.

And I've been on neovim, which does work without having to change my vimrc and is slightly faster, but meh.

More importantly, how long until it can be scripted with Common Lisp?

Emacs is even worse. Even Eclipse, which is famous for being slow, is much faster (and has real semantic editing features).

of course if you add a bunch of bloated garbage it's going to lag you think that adding the same amount of crap in elisp will somehow magically be more performant?

>but meh.
kids these days...
