Why are android flagships so laggy?
I just tried out the G3, G4, Z3 and Z5, the S6, and the htc m9; and then I tried a random midrange windows phone and the iphone 6.
I was blown away by how smooth the windows phone was; that phone worked perfectly; on par with the iphone - and that thing has just 1 GB of ram and a random dual/quad core cpu.
How is Android's laggy shit tolerated today?
And no, I'm not a windows phone shill - all my smartphones have been android phones.

while this is true iOS has gotten way worse in terms of optimization since iOS 7.
large parts of the previous codebase were scrapped, and these were made by gdlk developers that apple no longer employs
now it's all script kiddies and it's very noticeable.
also try a stock android 6.0 ROM or a MIUI7 ROM. still quite inexcusable.

Why isn't the tool van as fast as the sports car that doesn't even have a boot to place things or even the possibility to fix whatever if something happens, not even able to change into a spare tyre? iPhones are laggy as well. It all depends on how much shit you bloat them with. Had a family member with an iPhone 4s crammed with a fuckton of apps and it was painfully slow as balls and would crash sometimes.
Androids are laggy because people bloat them with hundreds of fucking apps of use to fucking no one. Some take up cpu resources and all take up ram resources. Because android is designed to let you multitask it pre-loads apps on boot to give you snappy loading times. This is why a 2013 nexus or any phone with specs like it will shit all over an iPhone 6.
Anyway the point is both can be laggy. Androids are still better because of all the extra features the offer like a microsd slot up to 200GB (and soon 256GB).

I've used a debloated touchwizz note 5 port on my note 4 and it lags when scrolling. It even uses ~50% more ram than cm after a clean boot.
Sure, it has vastly improved from the abomination that was touchwiz nature ux 3.0 but it still has a long way to go before reaching cm/aosp/htcsense's level of speed.
In the end, the lag probably is not apparent to you unless you've used a faster device.

Depends on why you use it. Noop and row are both great for a longer battery life, they are however not good for multi tasking. cfq should be used by default unless you really need that 1-2 more hours of battery life.
Noop is better at saving battery life than row but also makes your phone the slowest. row prioritizes read operations bit still saves more battery than cfq. cfq is what should be used for performance by default.

When they get powerful x86 chips. intel already has 2-4 watt atom chips but they suck balls. Hope cherry trail changes that. The x7-z8700 looks decent but I hope intel will make something twice as powerful as that, maybe chuck in 4 more cores.

It only has the Z3580 which is still pretty decent, it competes with the quad core krait on the note 3 however exynos always outperforms it in multi core performance.
I think the problem is the OS, if people could dual boot into windows and android on something like the zenfone easily then phones would be really good. However we need that sweet sweet x86 chip to do that.
zenfone is breddy gud especially for the insanely low price of $200 for the 2gb version. Seems like intel isn't fucking around, they really want that share of the mobile market.

Very true. The latest 9.2 beta on my 6s stutters even worse than my 2013 Moto X at times. That said, my Moto X was incredibly smooth most of the time, especially before lollipop. Kinda wish it wasn't dead. The 6s doesn't feel like too much of an upgrade.

Compared to the N9002 Note 3 it actually has better multi core as well as single core performance at the same ~2.3GHz frequency. It's not that much difference though.
However everything comes with a price, it is rumoured that the atom chip uses more power than the krait cpu in the note 3. Still not something to complain much about on a killer 1080p screen + 13mp camera $200 phone.

Because it's built on Java. However Java is no longer an interpreted language. More like a hybrid now, most of the code can run natively on arm chips but some still runs on a jvm.
