Hey guys. Wondering if I need a new PSU. According to the outvision calculator it's either yes or no, depending on how accurate it is. Right now I have a Corsair RM650.
When I set the GPU to standard clock speed it says. . .
>load wattage 520w
>recommended PSU wattage 570w
All good right? Except my 980ti is the SC version, so do I up the clock speed to 1391? When I do it gives me pic related.
I haven't overclocked the CPU either, but set the speed to 4400 turbo mode.

you do know GPU power reqs are doubled and then some from what they actually need right
apparently not
>>51253600
No I didn't. I figure my GPU ain't using nearly that much since it's only powering two 1080p screens, and only one for gaming. . .

Also does that calculator take that into effect?
>ITT nobody on /g/ knows how electricity works
count the maximum watt usage on each device on your PC, double it.
PSUs generally operate most efficiently at 50% load. And don't worry about "future-proofing", that shit's dumb.

You're fine or a built with a single 980ti.

>388 watts under load
Jesus fuck.
What are some signs that your PSU power isn't sufficient enough?
I used to have a prebuilt that I upgraded without upgrading the PSU. It ended up ruining my motherboard.

3% better.. at full load? no one's mining buttcoins. I'd say it's pretty insignificant.
bumpo

Their test system is an overclocked i7-4960X with 32GB RAM. The 4960X pulls 210W at stock clocks.

So what does the 980ti pull just normally then?

>Spend another $100 to get 2-3% more efficiency at 50% while losing some at idle
Good work dickhead

Minimum reccomended PSU for 980ti's is 600w.

so 650 is adequate or should i go bigger to be safe?
