Awhile ago, I started using an old Droid RAZR and I noticed when I tried to play WebM's above a certain resolution they would not play on chrome or Overchan. This prompted me to download a 3rd party app, which successfully allowed me to play these videos granted I download and save them first.
I figured if this helped me with my WebM problem, a 3rd party app could help me with my Youtube problem which is that the official Youtube app only allows me to go up to 480p quality (mobile site only shows a HQ option, no HD)
On my old phone (Droid Ultra) the official youtube app only allowed up to 720p I believe.
So back to my original point, I want to know what 3rd party youtube apps you guys recommend or use if any.

OG YouTube let's you play any resolution no matter what red your phone is
You can also
~play videos in background/with screen off
~theres a dedicated download button/download manager(supports mp3 and all qualities (even 60fps))
~you can sign in
newpipe (from fdroid). you just browse vids with your browser. then open them in newpipe which tells your phone to open them in the builtin video player or something like mx/vlc
Newpipe is the best 3rd party Youtube app. It's on F-droid.
