Hey /g/uys. What is the best BUDGET monitor for gaming. Preferrably 1440p and/or over 60hz. Looking to use a 980ti with it. Preferrably 24"-27". Thanks. Less than 600€ preferrably. Which is more important 1440p or 144hz?

I've got 1440p and 144hz you jelly poor scrub?
>>
>>51245877
Not really. I'd go buy a swift asap if I really wanted. Decided to spend more on the PC to futureproof a little more.
>>
>competitive eg CSS/CSGO
144hz
>casual eg BF/video editing/videos
1440hp

personally I'd get a 1440p since it's a more apparent upgrade, but some people swear by 100hz+ refresh rates

144Hz. And high refresh rate is wasted if your framerate can't keep up. At 1080p it's easier to reach 144fps.

Are there any decent 1440p 60hz+ monitors? OC monitors or something
>>
>>51245930
Hm. Does 1440p give any advantages?>>51245930

Yeah its a lot of pixels on the screen. It can give a clearer or sharper image, especially if its an IPS monitor but those tend to run higher in price.

The refresh rate helps with fast changing screen objects like in shooters but the picture might not be as good. Also if you get a big screen, like over 24", with 1080p it might not look so good.

pick one
a 1080p 60hz monitor is great for gaming.
>>
Hm, What does /g/ say about OCing monitors? Could I just go and buy a 1440p monitor and OC it towards 100-ish. Looks like 980ti can't handle over 100 fps on all games at 1440p.

Here's a budget one at 1080p 60hz with IPS.

If you can't go any higher than this then consider waiting until you have a few extra hundred bucks to throw around on your computer.

Eh, I asked about 1440p and 144hz, I'm not interested in going with a standard 1080p 60hz screen.
>>
>>51246508
Well a lot of those hit the 300-400 range USD. Especially if its a "gaming" monitor. So just be read to pay more for a good picture and refresh.

crossover 2795. No PWM dimming, OC's to 96hz (some have reported hitting 120), great colors, 1440, AH-IPS, like $300 or less.
>>

I said preferrably less than 600€. My idea of budget seems to be a little strange.
>>
>>51246327
If you're console gaming, sure.
>>
If €600 is your budget just save a bit and get the Dell S2716DG, it's 1440p TN at 144hz at around that price. 2016 is going to be the year of the high refresh rate IPS panels, the recently released Asus PG279Q is IPS and does 165hz. You could just wait a little longer and get one of those, but at this moment in time it's only available for £720 which is too much for a monitor.
>>
>buying expensive monitor

Just get a 60Hz 1920 or 1440 IPS

We're in the middle of a revolution after almost 10 years of 1920x1080 (and similar) panels. HFR monitors are still bleeding edge. You will be paying a lot of money and you will be geting a medicore product. Wait it out

I would recommend early adoption if it was possible to get a good monitor by paying enough but it is simply not. There will be issues no matter how much money you spend. Wait it out

Pic related don't believe his fucking lies
