But those exynos cores give you ~30% better multi-core performance though. Of course all that power will cost you some battery juice. However you will always be happy to know that your exynos processor will be able to playback HEVC video just fine. HEVC is going to become popular in 2016 as they improve its efficiency and encoding time. You're gonna want a phone powerful enough to play those HEVC video files.
Single thread performance is becoming more and more relevant too you know.
Finally you can OC all those exyno cores to 1.6-1.8 GHz. You literally can't OC that SD note 4

lol what. I've owned the N4, N5, and gave my mom a 1+2, and they've all overheated and throttled. Qualcomm is good with their viral marketing but Exynos always curb stomps Firedragon chips. We'll see who's the last one laughing when the 820 (custom ARM chip) comes out and actually performs worse than the 620 (standard A72 big.LITTLE ARM config) due to throttling.

Fingerprint scanner is only used when unlocking the phone or if you are making a payment using Android Pay.

I'd wait for Anandtech's review and DisplayMate's measurements before making that call. Google claim it's latest generation Samsung OLED, but the display is significantly dimmer than the Note 5, features a very warm color temp (despite Google engineers claiming they paid close attention to white point) and has several reports of navbar burn-out after only a week.
Then I'm probably gonna try to get the exynos note 4, though surely the difference between it and the SD version aren't really that much?

Get the snapdragon version, unless you don't like battery life. The exynos version is inferior in EVERY way except multicore score, where it must ramp up ALL 8 of it's cores - high and low power, just to squeeze past the SD version.
