Stop using systemd, install openrc
>>
>>51219764
no. if systemd is what most distros are using then I should know how to use it - my own opinions don't come into it.

nice fire hazard you got going on there

You're alright.

I have had similar weird issues with OpenRC.
They fixed themselves after I ran:
# emerge -1 sys-apps/openrc

No idea why they occured in the first place though.

Maybe not Gentoo after all.

Fun fact: If you attempt to post the full pasta you get permanently IP banned

You are not quite correct.
what you guys are referring to as linux is in fact gnu+linux.

oh that's handy to know, ta muchly.

not much use in this case since three is no keyboard attached and it would have to go to all 9 pis anyway.

saying that it seems its mroe an issue of these versions of docker and systemd just not getting on together. In middle of trying a full Hypriot install to see if that eases things. Failing that I'll just give up on systemd handling containers at boot and find a different solution.

Good to know it wasn't my fault at any rate.

It's alpine linux (OpenRC + busybox by default)
>>
>>51219442
Installing/using programs that expect 'python' to refer to python2.7

Whilst ok for a good chunk of distros it drives me up the wall when using Arch/Manjaro.

It is telling you. retard.

Oh really ?

What you guys are referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.
There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.
