You know, I honestly hope for the day that "content creator" shitters finally run away from youtube and jump on the newest bandwagon site so I can enjoy my 12 subscriptions in peace without having to deal with 10,000 PEWPEWSHIT videos in my "watch now" tab.
>>
>>47514914
>jump on the newest bandwagon
you've already missed Twitch
>>
>>47514899

Yeah I haven't seen a YouTube ad in years outside of my phone and the shared computers at work.

Twitch is unsustainable garbage.
This is what rakes in viewership and sub money, not actual gameplay.

Nice RTZ-wannabe SF build.

So? It's all about money, not quaity

what ever happened with that video site /g/ was making, gTube or something like that?

someone started uploading cosplay porn with japanese crossdressers and the owner shut it down
>>

I've just checked twitch most viewed channels. They contained:
- a bearded guy playing mortal kombat x
- an older non-bearded guy commenting on some LoL games
- a young guy playing LoL
- a guy browsing some cs:go related webpages
- a fat guy playing LoL
- a guy going for the "villain from Zorro" look with his facial hair, playing Heartstone.

I was unable to locate any scantily clad ladies in any of those streams.

Once again, Google fucks up the interface.

And of course this will be even heavier than the old player somehow.
Youtube is so bloated nowadays I have to download the videos and play them in mpv.
The laptop is fast enough for 1080p video, but not fast enough for 480p youtube without dropping frames (no GPU acceleration).
>>
>>47515105
The last time i had trouble with youtube was with my 2004 t40 thinkpad, made in 2004, 11 YEARS AGO.
Maybe you should upgrade to something made this decade?
>>
>>47515151
Dude some years ago I could watch the 480p youtube videos on a laptop from 2004, now I can't on a cheap laptop from 2010.
And in 2011-2012 I could use the desktop version of youtube, with flash player, on a single core android phone.

I don't mind upgrading, what irks me is you need more and more to do the exact same tasks.
>>
>>47515105
I use mpv exclusively to watch youtube videos nowadays unless it's just music, it can't even handle a SD video without freezing. Oh, and let's not forget about DASH.
>>
DASH ruined YouTube.

I once found a Twitch stream where a conservatively dressed middle aged woman played platformers. She wasn't too good at it but seemed to enjoy herself. Not sexual pandering at all as far as I could tell. It was actually kind of strange to see a female streamer like that.
>>
>>47515195
B-But muh features! What do you mean your 3 year old laptop can't handle Atom without lagging horribly? Why would you use vim when Brackets does less and runs ten times slower?
Just get yourself a new laptop every year like my daddy does, nerd.
>>
>>47515195
not him, but i'm on a mobile core2duo from 2006 and I've had zero issues with the transition to html5 video.
the new youtube player doesn't even use 20% of my cpu on a single core.
Of course, if I play that same video in mpv, it doesn't use more than 4 percent, but still...
Maybe if you didn't cheap out on hardware, you would get a lot more mileage out of your stuff.

Try Minitube for Linux. It works for 360p video even on a T22.
>>47515072
>- a guy going for the "villain from Zorro" look with his facial hair, playing Heartstone.
That's just how Spanish people naturally look.
>>
>>47515264
The problem in my case is lack of working GPU acceleration for .h264.
The laptop works well enough for browsing while in the toilet or in bed, so I'm not going to spend any money on a new one for no good reason.
>>
>>47515322
>browsing in the toilet or bed
what the fuck is your problem

If you actually use that thing on your bed, it's probably slow because of the blanket blocking the exhaust ports and making your CPU run hot as shit.
>>
>>47515352
No it's not overheating and throttling, I'm not a literal retard.
>>
>>47515423
why do you feel the need to use a laptop on the toilet and in bed, but more in importantly,
WHY THE TOILET
>>
>>47515465
Why not? Don't you want to shitpost while you shit.
>>
>>47515475
>his shits take long enough to make even a single post on /g/

Maybe you should eat healthier.
Sitting for more than 2 minutes on the toilet just to complete a bowel movement isn't normal or healthy.
>>

Sourcecode anyone? May Start this again
>>
>>47515503
just download and install GNU mediagoblin, it was designed specifically as a FOSS platform to replace youtube.

>>47515245
and she probably had like 2 viewers amirite
>>
>>47515550
I don't remember. I think it was a dozen or so.
>>
Why doesn't jewtube embed ads directly to the video stream? This would render current adblocking solutions completely useless.
>>
>>47514899
This. I am actually caught by surprised when I see an add and think for a second if I clicked the wrong video or something
>>
>>47515230
Why?
>>
>>47515604
Because changing the ad would require re-encoding every video.
>>
>>47515632
>>47515604
I'm honestly surprised google hasn't done anything sneaky like sourcing the ad videos from the same servers as the video content, since most adblockers function by blocking content from dedicated ad servers that are explicitly have "ADS" in the name,
>>
>>47515632

They can try with only the popular ones.
