GitHub is probably one of the most toxic places for the whole FOSS community.

If you want to host a project of yours, host GitLab yourself or put it on Bitbucket.

Are you implying it isn't?
>>

>Implying GitHub is "toxic"
>Implying Bitbucket, which is owned by Atlassian, a giant corporation, isn't "toxic"

I cut myself on your edge, it was so sharp.

Also you're going need to explain why you feel GitHub is "toxic" and what your definition of "toxic" is, because I wish to be entertained.

GitHub itself is great but a big part of the "community" is absolute garbage.

>a big part of the "community" is absolute garbage

That's true of Open Source in general. Nothing to do with GitHub. When everyone was using Sourceforge (remember that?) there was a significant minority of shitlords, too.

Guys like Theo de Raadt & DJB are such shitlords they stand alone in a class all of their own, and neither of them have anything to do with GitHub.

Gitbull is free as in freedom fsf approved alternative.
>>
>>47220819
Why not just send a dmca? Everyone knows github is spineless.
Don't even need to own the thing you're having taken down.
>>
>>47221007
You want chinese to send a DMCA to github about COPYRIGHT infringement?

Good one anon

Did they let a 10 year old write the English on their web site? Anonymous disapproves (-5).
>>
>>47220929
I know that there are vocal idiots who never contributed anything but for some reason think their opinion is worth more in every major FOSS project.
It just seems like the is an unproportionally high amount of them on GitHub compared to other websites.
The fact that the GitHub staff actually bends over to them many times doesn't help either.

>Admin meeting because of DICCS
>removing Feminist Software Foundation repos because muh feelings

open source suffers from everyone interested in public relations wanting to murder everyone involved in the project.

Bitbucket doesn't even have a community. I love Atlassian, use all of their products at work, went to their big party conference last year, but I only use bitbucket for private repos because they're free. Everything open source I put on github.

What do you mean was? Sourceforge is still widely used to host the binaries.

Precisely. "When everyone was using Sourceforge [as a hosted SCM with. CVS or SVN]".

The funniest bit about the entire thing is watching fat greasy neckbeards like you guys getting all upset about the fact that women exist. It's the most entertaining thing I've seen in ages.
