We had a nice thread the other day, unfortunately I was very, very late to the party.

What are you writing with currently?
What are your daily writers?
What are your specialty writers?

P-please respond.

I use a Uni apha-gel slim with Pentel Ain Stein 0.3 2B.
It's fantastic for when I have to write.
>>
Uniball Powertank.

It's a $2 space pen. It writes against walls, on wet paper, on glass, upside down, in the freezing cold, in the blistering hot, it doesn't leak, and it doesn't smudge.

Anything more is pretentious bullshit, because this is literally about as functional as a pen can get and it's only 2 bucks.

I used to be a member of FPN, but it seems like that place is ran by noodler's ink for the sole purpose of advertising it. You literally get banned for having an opinion there.

What's a good fountain pen to test inks (think goulet pen ink samples) with?

I went out one day to buy a Lamy. Tried the Safari and the more expensive, metal version of the same pen. They both felt and looked like cheap crap. The fins were really scratchy and the build quality seemed really underwhelming to me. They also feel too blocky, I guess I don't like the design. While I was in the store, I also tried a few Online pens. They were a lot cheeper then Lamy, but looked and felt so much better, I didn't get the impression they were as cheap as Lamy. Needless to say, I didn't buy one.
I guess I'm wondering why there are so many people swearing by Lamy pens when they look and feel too cheap for the price, and also use proprietary cartridges.

You people blow ordinary stuff way out of fucking proportions. Sure, there are differences between a 1$ and a 500$ pen, but for fuck's sake, what kind of autism-level are you guys capable of?

dude that is one gaudy fountain pen. you look really pretentious writing with one. Only good for taking to FP expos and at home... useless and fedora/grandpa tier.

>>47111442
Writing with FP automaticly makes you fedora/grandpa tier for majority of people
>>
>>47111484
pretty much.
>>
i like how 80% of FP users have the shittiest hand writing. "this is the smoothest nib for my toddler scribbles!". They need to get a grip on their hobby, they seem more like fedora tipping old men latching on to nostalgia that they never went through.
>>
>>47110103

It all depends on your personal preference. In the grand scheme of things, a $30 pen isn't all that expensive when it comes down to it. My Lamy 2000 came out to $230 CAD, so that $30 Lamy Safari is relatively inexpensive. I happen to like the Lamy Safari and the grip section because it suits my writing style and the way I hold my pen. I don't have any experience with the cartridges because I use a converter with bottled ink. The writing experience depends on more than just the body. Nib size, ink, and paper play a big role in the writing experience. Right now I use my Lamy 2000 that has a gold EF nib, Lamy Turquoise and 32lb HP LaserJet paper. If I use a regular paper it's not going to feel the same compared to the smooth writing experience I get from the heavier paper.

they are better than most fountain pens in value and in writting quality. (coming from a platinum 3776).

Fountain pens are only good for collectors and calligraphers, unless you like to show off. I've been there and sold 75% of my collection when i saw that there was basically no improvement once you go high end, even so cheaper pens will do you just as good without all the stupid frills.

Why.

thats why i sold my collection. Made a nice profit off it since they were mostly limited editions.
>>
>>47112048
Admittedly, I haven't tried those other ones. I mean compared to a standard wooden pencil or a Bic.
A joy to write with I think. How much are the others? Where I live I can get a 5 pack of Mitsubishi pencils for $1.50
>>

Most ive spent on a pen is $15 for a pilot metro, which is probably the best thing i'm gonna get.
I'm interested in them, and want more, definitely, but then i remember they're just fucking pens.
Paper though, I get good stuff. I mainly buy Rhodia for the journals i keep and whatever ink i feel like using.

All these faggots pretending that anyone that writes with a fountain pen must be some fedora memester or some shit like that.

>Little do they know that in many country you HAVE to own a fountain pen while attending elementary and middle school, so you end up only liking those types of pens over ballpoint garbage.

How can someone possible like something that you don't like, right?

Such as? I'd love for these times to come back because kids these days can't write for shit.
>>

Such as Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

Mostly Germanic countries that like to teach their kids how to have precision and to do things with quality.
>>
>>47112497
>>47112497
so what you are saying is that fountain pen users are either third world children or people who never grew up (autists)? Just as expected.

>>

Third world?

Nigga, I'm from Switzerland. Every country is third world compared to mine.

What I'm saying is that /g/ is made up of tons of people that own $200 mechanical keyboards, jerk off to their old Thinkpads and use $150 mice and you are bitching about some fucking pens?

You must be out of your mind to bitch about something like this when most of you own way more bullshit than simple fountain pens.
>>
>>47112588
its a pen, get over yourself.

I used to buy expensive pens, but the chinese ones look about as good and cost way less. Jinhao X750 as my daily. Wish the C/C was bigger though.
