What do you think /g/?

ur mom is the best thing on top of my lap

>Apple 1st
>HP 3rd
>ASUS under all that shit
oh god, I cringed

>software 5
>innovation non-zero
>audio 4
>value positive
>adding points for reviews
>tech support not 250 USD
Oh I'm laffin now.
>>
>>47038198
>MSI 4th
I'm cool with that.

>Software category
[guffaws internally]
>>
>>47038198
>people still think technology works like fashion
Brands don't mean shit.
>>
>>47038198
>Software
What the fuck?
Who gives a shit about what software it comes with?

>Reviews
Isn't the point of this chart supposed to be so that you don't have to rely on reviews?

>Audio
Unless there's a laptop with proper sound, who gives a shit?

>Design
100% subjective

>Tech support
All I care about is how fast they process RMAs for when something is DOA
>>
>>47038520

these aren't based on performance. but most of those categories are subjective.
>>
>keyboard/touchpad == design
>>
Where's Fujitsu?
>>
software should be replaced buy how much bloat-ware they stuff in the machine.
>>
>>47038589
>aren't based on performance
>subjective
That is exactly why this scorecard is completely useless.
>>
does anyone buy an apple just for the hardware, and then install/use only Windows on it?
>>
>>47038622
Why?
Bloatware is fucking great.
It just means a bunch of retards are subsidizing my PC which I'm going to install a fresh OS on every single time.
>>
>>47038652
last time I bought a dell, all the bloatware was from Dell.

>PC maintenance
>Dell backup manager
>Dell service tag tracker
>etc

I don't think those help subsidize the cost, but I know what you mean

>first thing I do is uninstall McAfee. lol
>>
>>47038641
considering apple purposefully releases garbage windows drivers for it, i would hope not
>>
>>47038198
>taking consumer-tier shit into account
/g/ only buys business class gear and usually a couple of years old or more.

That said I don't really disagree with their power level ratings aside from obvious Apple shillery.
>>
>>47038810
>apple purposefully releases garbage windows drivers for it
Why do they do that? Hackintosh users use those same drivers?
>>
shouldn't durability be worth something in there?

>lenovo
>display
>8
lol WHAT
lenovo's TN screens that they put on everything are like 1998 compaq tier
>>
>>47038198
>ASUS tech support: 5/20

Bullshit. I dropped my laptop a couple of weeks ago completely cracking the screen, and disrupting the hard drive enough so that it won't boot. Sent it in for an RMA with no warranty and they replaced the screen, hard drive, and my previously broken speakers completely free of charge. Had it back after about two weeks which is pretty reasonable considering it was free.
>>
>>47039051
They probably mean responding to people's dumbass software questions.
>>
>>47038198
Having dealt with dell, asus, lenovo, hp, apple support at various jobs, I can tell you that apple is near the bottom.

That chart is dildoes.
>>
hp creates overheating shits how??
>>
What a surprise, it's ordered by how much money they get paid from each company.
>>
Where's the score for laptops being serviceable?

I'd really like to know if I can replace the HDD or upgrade the RAM without having to completely disassemble the fucking thing.
>>
>>47039730

don't all laptops have bottom access to hd and ram via 2 small screws?
>>
>>47038641
I would do this in the event that I was given a macbook for free. Fuck osx.
>>
>>47039957
No
Some don't have easy access to shit.
Some have soldered RAM.
Some have proprietary form factor storage devices (like Applel).
Some don't even have easily replaceable batteries (Applel again).
On the other end of the spectrum, better laptops tend to have replaceable CPUs and for the best laptops, even the video card can be replaced.

I've only had experience with Dell, Lenovo, Asus and HP, but in my experience this list is almost entirely backwards.
I'd say it's
Lenovo > Asus >>> Dell >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> HP
