will there be an option to remove this part?
>>46923590
windows is such poop.. such smelly poop...
>>46923590
Want to know this too. Or I will just stick with Windows 8 and classic shell.
>>46923590
Nobody knows. It's not like anyone has a crystal ball that can tell you the future.
>>46923590
yes
something you could find out with 2 minute googling
>>46923590
Please contemplate suicide
>>46923596
>>46923599
How about you watch any previews or anything related to Win10? Yes you can remove it.
Yeah, you just need to install a better operating system.
srsly who thought slapping feeds everywhere was a good idea
>>46923590
Yes, if you remove all the tiles the space is reduced.
>>46923590
In earlier builds there was, in the current build there isn't, and they've promised to reimplement it in a future build.
>>46923775
All of my tiles are removed and the empty space is still there.
>>46923590
It astounds me how Microsoft manages to fuck up minimalism so much.
>>46923610
>>46923775
That was with the old built. It's completely different now.
>>46923840
The way them folks manage resources... Tsk tsk
yes, you can resize or hide completely tiles
>>46924470
>>46923840
Did they just go out of their way to make things worse? How could disabling that feature possibly help development?
>>46923590
Don't ask /g/. It's full of shills (paid shills from Apple, paid shills from Microsoft, unpaid shills for Linux etc), and you'll be none the wiser.
>>46923840
>in the current build there isn't
Because there's a bug in start menu.
>>46924698
I would trust the unpaid shills over any other option tbh
>>46923590
You could probably install Classic Shell or whatever it's called.
this board is filled with wannebe techsavy/geek faggots.
get over yourselfs. if you were really interested in the science/technology/computer science you would have followed even remotly the development of this version of windows.
yes it is removable, because if you have no tiles there, it will disappear. it was like that since the 1st preview build.
it's the first windows driven by community feedback.
.NET 2015 is open source and VS is free.
how is that not an intersting change in the computer world for you to follow what's going on? explain yourselfs.
>>46925330
>VS is free
FREE DOG SHIT!
>>46925335
no, it's really good. if you have ever used it, you would know it. way better than eclipse or netbeans or whatever the fuck you use.
of course vim/emacs/gcc/etc are good options for gnu/linux only users. I use both.
>>46925394
How do you know it's better if you don't know what I actually use? Are you paid to say this?
>>46923590
will they ever fix their colorscheme selector? How the fuck would one read the application name if its the same color as the background color.
Yall retarded, just unpin the tiles, and the whole right part disappears.
>>46926007
Not in the latest build.
>>46926694
oh boy, people are gonna get apeshit because of this.
>>46926694
It's a bug. It's been said it's a bug, and it's obviously a bug to anyone who isn't retarded, ie. not you.
Fuck off.
>>46925848
Give them feedback then, faggot
>A developer preview has bugs and it's not unlocked with features of RTM
>People going apeshit here, not giving feedback to Windows
Do you even read the ToS?
>start menu is bloat as shit
>finally gets removed
>normies start whining
>its back
ffs
>>46923590
yeah just photoshop that shit
>>46925330
> if you were really interested in the science/technology/computer science you would have followed even remotly the development of this version of windows
> really interested in the science/technology/computer

>>46924470
No it's not you lying idiot.
>>46923590
I hope not.
It's a good compromise.
Interfaces change, aspies need to learn to deal with it.

REE, etc.
>>46926732
meh, I'll end up using a deviant theme anyways. This windows is too ugly and their designers are too retarded to improve it.
Look at what they've done to the fucking icons.
>>46926791
>We will dictate to our consumers how to use our products and they better like it.
Spoken like a true marketer.
>>46923590
>option
hahahaha
hahAHAHAHHAHA
HHAHAAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>>46923590
>>46926788
How do you disable it then?
>>46927215
Yes you can disable that now
>Rightclick it, search menu, disable
Can't seem to disable the extra bit for OP, waiting on one of the angry posters to actually post a solution to this rather than call people liars.
>>46923590
You can remove it. Just right click on each and click remove/uninstall.
>>46927360
That's the most retarded cumbersome way of doing anything ever.
>>46927391
>>46927360
In fact, it doesn't even work...
>>46926694
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
god damnit they can't implement that shit right
>>46923590
No, not even with 3rd party shit.
That's where the ads go and M$ is banking on that shit to keep them afloat.
>>46923590
Why Windows 95 menu in 2015, for fuck's sake. How did the OS UI advance if we keep pushing one button to find a program in a list or in a list of lists.
i_dont_want_to_live_on_this_planet_anymore.mkv
Things that are currently shitting me with Win10:
-Can't resize start menu as per OP
-Can't close windows apps via the icon space in the top left
>This has been a standard way to close programs with the mouse since Win 3, I'm not changing now.
-Can't test Cortana as she doesn't understand the banter
-Pressing win key and typing to search no longer works (win key brings up start menu, search is now part of cortana with god knows whatever shortcut key)
-networking is all over the fucking place
>>46927431
Because that's all the alternative is too, it's just a list or list of lists with pretty pictures that take up a larger amount of space.
>>46927461
I don't like this, I think it's going backwards, it's like Windows 95 with tiles on the right. A mutant menu which makes no sense.
At least 8.1 was consistent: one screen with everything you set it up to be. One click of a key or mouse, everything clickable in one place.
If you don't like it covering your whole screen, then make that customisable, so it covers only a defined area of the screen and all the tiles would have to adjust their size/position to the size of the container.
>>46927509
Or you give the user the option to use the interface you attempted to force them into using for the last two versions, since no one liked it then. There's a reason everyone is still using Windows 7.
>>46927509
Tiles are unnecessary outside consumer applications, they don't provide any relevant information other than whether.
Enterprise will want the ability to turn tiles off.
Start menu should be infinitely resizable, or at the very least grid resizable to the tile sizes with the ability to 'snap' to 0 tiles wide which would disable tiles.
I understand some people want full screen start menu and it should still exist for those people, some more people want tiles, but they shouldn't be forced on those that don't want them.
>>46926749
The problem is that Microsoft doesn't fix these bugs, and all too often they are by design. Like UAC thrashing.
>>46927614
ONE. USER. EXPERIENCE.
Customization is the devil and power users are irrelevant. Even shuttleworth realized this.
>>46927655
Again, that's fine for a consumer OS.
Microsoft makes their money from Enterprise...
Also keep in mind those Enterprise users are the only people really paying for Win10, it's not free for us on the client side, we still have to pay for server versions and CALs for every client (real PCs, VMs, exchange CAL for devices, etc)
Also there can never be a 'one user per device' ideology with Enterprise, a desk is a desk.
This shit again
Use the fucking catalog
>>46882248
haha did you really expect to have a thread here not be filled with FUD?
>>46923590
>>46927215
Microsoft dev here. You mean like this?
>>46927923
kek
You have 3 screenshots of it removed, why do you keep being so fucking retarded
You are fucking boring and disgusting cancer, go to the circlejerk thinkpad and desktop threads and stay there
>>46927630
Still, Developer preview is just as stable as they can get, it's like those kids arguing about why Windows don't release a stable new build every 5 days and get shocked if they find a bug. Even RTM tends to have a lot of bugs until one year from the official release date.
>>46927923
>Not adding little ad tiles powered by bing instead of that search bar space
Dev please, step it up.
>>46924551
>Did they just go out of their way to make things worse?
We're talking about the company, which made the Metro-startscreen mandatory, right?

Reading subhuman loonix trash talking about windows its like niggas bitching about white privilege or jews talking about palestine
But the fucking retards that trust them are even worse
Another subject to the filter, sigh
