this is actually exactly how it goes for most people. i went from a fully-riced gentoo build to osx after i realized i could get all the unix stuff i actually care about, along with a DE that isn't completely broken.
linux is cool but it's so easy to get lost ricing everything that im rarely productive when i boot it up these days

OSS and jack provide better mixing and less latency

It's slower, more bloated, and less secure than ksh, which is 99.9-100% bash compatible, or will be until GNU decides to use their hegemony to fuck over non-GPL competently developed software some more. Use ksh. Or at least use zsh for the superior interactive experience.

Linux guideline #1: the most popular software actually is worse, including the kernel

Nah, not into console gayming. Besides maybe sports games.

I honestly like the idea of having Linux, but it just seems unnecessary for me. I might buy a cheap laptop and try it though.

It's not like folks have released any games that are more fun to play than those created for PS2. At this point it's all graphics and no substance. Get into console gaming and spend the $1300 you would have spent on a gayming rig on a Thinkpad, a buttload of PS2 games, and a few figures of your waifu or something.

>>46804007
The idea is to run a decent OS as a host and have Windows in a VM to run the programs WINE doesn't cover.

I'm 23, admittedly I don't play them as much as I used to, but they're a nice way to waste time when I feel like playing.

I've spent $1100 on my gayming PC, and I still had enough money for my nendoroid waifus anon.

I know there's Steam for Linux, I'm just too lazy to wipe my SSD and I'm afraid I won't like it or be able to handle it. I heard there's nothing worse than diving head first into Linux.

Just install a distribution guaranteed not to break like Debian and move onto something not awful. The CLI isn't that hard to use, you've just been the victim of corporate indoctrination.

looks like nautilus. which is a nice looking one. or it could be thunar with gtk mixed up. it's fun to edit numix theme. which is what a lot of ricers do.
