Since when?

The lenovo malware thing affected their consumer laptops, and no thinkpads, and it doesn't retroactively go backwards in time and affect products that already exist and it only affects you if you actually use the OS it comes with with not doing a clean install to clean the crap that comes with laptops AND if you're buying new which you shouldn't anyway
>>
>>46680232
you should install gentoo either way

you could buy an HP.

Dell Latitude and Precision systems are great, both functionally and aesthetically. I'm very happy with my E6410 Latitude - I got it refurbished from a local company on the cheap.

This.

Its stupidly expencive, but they're worth it
>>
>>46684530
You do realize that the x250 can be bought with a 1920x1080 IPS display, right?
>>
>see these threads
>nobody mentions the dell inspiron 15 7000 series that come standard with 4k IPS displays.

I was a little annoyed that dell switched to 4k right after i bought mine, which "only" has a 1080p IPS display, but they are non the less GOAT laptops.

Does Panasonic still make Toughbooks?

I don't get what people have against 15 inch laptops. I find they are just right for a mobile workstation.

I've always used 15 inch. It's the perfect size.
Good to carry around and still decent enough screen size to use as a desktop replacement.

The 17 inch or god forbid bigger machines are just too large to use anywhere other than a desk and most of the consumer grade big sized cheapies are waaay worse with quality than their smaller brothers.

I could go to 14 inch but not lower. After that I'd get a netbook.

Nothing larger than 14 inches for a laptop. If I'm at home it is going to be plugged into a bigger monitor anyways and the reason I'm buying a laptop is to be portable.
>>
>>46680197
The new XPS 13 is the hottest looking laptop in the market. Its got the tiniest bezels in a laptop ever. Its got better battery life then the macbook pro with a great display, and its so tiny! Its a great laptop.
>>
>>46684963
That doesn't look cheap though, especially not when you compare it to most other laptops
