Gnome is the best DE for Linux, and that's sad.
>>
Literally what is wrong with Unity?
>>
>>45490508
It's a botnet

Epic meme bro, I lol'ed.

Unity's the shit, fuck off

lmao is that pic from 2012

The only way to properly use linux is to create your own DE with your own window manager and applications. Why use Linux if you want others to choose your applications? The entire point is having complete freedom so why no exercise it?
>>
Gnome's the best desktop on any platform

What this person said.
I wrong my own implementation of X in assembly so that I can write my own WM in assembly too. 2custum6u
>>
>>45490670
who does that though? Everyone here just uses tiling wm's because they're more bothered about desktop threads than being able to use their computer efficiently

I find Unity with Numix absolutely beautiful.

gnome3's not that bad

it's still very customizable, supports wayland, not too big if you install only the core of it

>>45490670
you don't have to install or use all the things that come default with unity/gnome, you can just install the shell itself

gnome is some 60MB if you only install the shell

Looks pretty nice.

If I used Linux on a desktop, I'd probably use Unity as my DE.

Task switching is also really cool too when it comes to multiple windows opened.
