hey guys what is this thing called and how much does the bar weigh? never used it before today, when i saw a guy doing half deadlifts with it and figured it woul be good for shrugs, it was much better than smith machine. think ill try farmers walks with it too!

Now what you got there is a river bar. You're probably used to seeing sea bars as they are far more common. River bars are rarer and significantly lighter. The standard sea bar is around 15-20 pounds, whereas the river bar is always exactly 12.3kg. You can tell it is a river bar because of the octagonal shape. To use a river bar you have to have a pretty strong back (I recommend doing squats for this) so that you can lean all the way over and grab the hand loops. The river bar juts out into your shins to make sure the weight is on your back and not closer to your center of gravity like a regular sea bar.
When I was your age I did 4 reps of 7 sets damn near every day, just so I could get the girls to look at me. Didn't work, though, as I was nearly 5'10" and girls wouldn't date men less than 6 feet. Just keep trying, buddy.
