>dont use straps as they are cheating!
>lmao developing an unbalanced physique with mixed is okay though
why do people listen to this dude again?
>>
Just switch your grip on mixed each time. Straps aren't cheating, you can pull more without worry but you're not training your grip
>>
is an unbalanced grip worse than not building it at all

Looks like a good way to rip your thumbs off. Seriously on heavy deads that seems catastrophic...
>>
>>37937675

They are. If watch this year's IPF world's about 1 out of every 5 lifters pulls with hook grip. The rest use mixed grip.
>>
Is an aggressive knurl good for deadlifting?
>>
>>37937746

Yes but literally every oly lifter uses hook grip for every lift and a lot of them are perfectly fine
>>
>>37937675

Used by a bunch of powerlifters who lift more than you ever will
Used by olympic lifters who lift more than you ever will
Grow a fucking pair of balls, give your body time to adjust and in 2-4 weeks you'll be fine

Also use a standard double over warming up, save the hook for your heavy ones. That way continue to improve grip strength but don't compromise a heavy lift because you can't hold.

George Leeman pulled 900 lbs with hook grip and his thumbs were fine.

>>37937767
Yes
>>
>>37936308
A mixed grip is fine. It's not optimal in my opinion, but loads of great deadlifters use mixed grip. Warm up with regular double overhand and then switch to mixed grip when you get to your main working sets. Or use hook grip

>lmao developing an unbalanced physique with mixed is okay though

can't you just alternate the grip between sets
