I never understand why people start with a 'cut' (and I use that term loosely) before having any muscle. People get so preoccupied with visible abs that they end up fucking their physique. You probably went from skinny-fat to that, but still, I think lifting, eating, going up to the 190-200 range THEN cutting would've worked better

Lifting around 6 or 7 years but I prefer being fairly lean so I never got huge.

Finally able to hit the gym again after some injuries, feels fantastic.

Yeah, I totally get where you're coming from. I was skinnyfat before and really wasn't happy with my waist/tits and felt like my bf was too high.

It's pretty neurotic/vain but I figured I would be more satisfied having a leaner base to work with, never having been very thin in my adolescence. Thanks for your advice, really looking forward to improving in lifts.

Intersting, I think I've had the opposite experience. Last time I posted I got some positive comments but when I mentioned I was likely going to do a light cut for summer everyone went berserk and told me to never stop bulking.

Traps too big, chest too small. Shoulders actually look a bit too big but could be the angle. You need to work on your proportions and cut slightly. You're a big guy, but strangely unaesthetic. Maybe it's because you're a manlet. You could prefer that look over a Zyzz look though and that's fine if it's what you like.

I eat basically the same things every day.

Supper is less strict. I have kids so we eat whatever. Pizza, hamburgers, meat and potatoes, chicken and rice, pasta, really anything.

Same for dessert, i'll eat a brownie or cake or ice cream or cookies or some shit.

Looking back my diet isnt that clean... I have no idea how i stay lean... I only drink about twice a month, that probably helps. Once every 4 months-ish I cut out all carbs for three weeks with a load up day on saturdays

That's cool man, thanks. It's nice to get an objective POV about the whole thing. I know I've been getting bigger because I've gone from about 155 -> 180 in the past 2 years, but when you see yourself in the mirror every day its hard to monitor progress. I like knowing that its also visible progress, not just progress on the scale. After noob gains cease, its sometimes hard to stay motivated, but /fit/ always does the trick, whether its people hating on minor imperfections or compliments.

That being said, I've said it a few times, I work in software so unfortunately i'm sedentary for 6+ hours a day. I have 2 kids so that's another huge chunk of time devoted to something other than fitness.

I train 6 days a week, for about 90 minutes a day. Note that I train hard af for that 90 minutes. (E.g. Do a set of benchpress, do 30 calf raises on machine while 'resting' then back to bench). I play golf on the weekends, always walk and carry my bag. I'm on my bicycle for about 100 km per week. The only other cardio I do is walk uphill on a treadmill at max incline for 20-25 minutes, twice a week.

Should note too that I didnt post any recent pictures on /fit/ between november2015-april2016. During that time I almost hit 190 lbs and wasn't quite as lean.

I'm implying that I winterbulked/ate like shit for about 4 months and got a bit flabby (relatively), then I cut again and got back on the train before posting to fit

In order for me to be 190 lean(9-12% bf) I'll have to keep training and eating like I do now until roughly late 2017/early 2018. Being natty, it'll take me another 18-20 months to put on abother 12 pounds of actual muscle, and thats assuming no injuries, consistent gains and remaining on track diet-wise. Even then 1/2 pound per month is a stretch. It'll probably be more like 185 at this time next year.

Or I may hop on the juice, who knows. Only thing stopping me is my SO tbqh familia

I don't do shrugs. I do hundreds pullups, chin-ups, weighted and BW on back day. I deadlift twice a week, in the 4+ plate range and I honestly think thats where I get the traps.

Besides that, close/wide gripped pulldowns, all kinds of rows, db, seated machine with various grips, etc...

Funny that you mention lats though, when I first posted on /fit/ people gave me tons of shit for my non-existent lats so I made it my personal goal to develop them.

Started lifting today.

I'm trying to get stronger but would like to lose some more fat, should I slow bulk or eat at maintenance?

Used to lift (not seriously) and got up to 210 bench 350 squat. Stopped lifting for a year and lost all my gains plus got fat, I've lost 35lbs in the last 2.5 months. What should I do guys?

Went from 210-180, now back to 190, bulking because I decided I didn't want to get super lean and just be a hungry skeleton.

Don't like how much fat I've got on me but that's what your get for years of eating garbage.

I always take breaks between my lifting periods so I'm not consistent. The lift breaks are to do other stuff like BJJ and boxing. But

I've been lifting again since December 2015... until I broke my fucking wrist back in April. Really depressing. Today was my first day back in the gym doing upper body!

I have got to be absolutely shredded when the college season starts again in September. Any tips lads? Bulk? Cut?

As you can see my arms are lagging behind. I have always had this problem. How do I properly tackle it?
