I don't know about you guys, but I listen to Gregorian chants when I lift. Nothing feels quite as good as channeling the strength of your crusader forefathers, as they charged into battle fearing nothing for god and country. Especially during squats, when you're ass to grass, the chants kick in, and you feel them closer than ever, giving you the power to pump out that new personal record.

Also I think it's more common than you think. I'm an atheist now but I think the chants do a great job of making us feel stable, strong, and of working for a greater purpose than ourselves. Men would listen to this and think about how death was a very likely possibility in the near future while kneeling in church, and they went on to the next battle fully believing in their purpose, and although I don't agree with the Bible's teachings I would say finding that purpose is admirable
