squatting regularly with good form actually fixes knees quite often. they do for me. if I take time off for a few weeks I always have knee pain when I start squatting again.

also read SS. the squat style in SS is quite gentle on the knees.

Start with the bar, add 5lbs each workout. That's how I started, now up to 180 aND still climbing. You'll make it brah.
