in the long term you don't really need pushups unless you're using a bodyweight/cali workout, but if you do anyway, the normal palm grip can fuck up your wrists, just use your fist if you're not a pussy or buy that if you prefer not hurting your knuckles in the slightest

I have some, they are okay I guess if you've got nothing else. They good for pushups I guess, you get a real good ROM and you do feel it activate more of your forearms as you rotate them.

I wouldn't say they are a substitute for going to an actual gym and doing a full program though.
