How necessary are back squats if one does front squats coupled with deadlifts, and GHR/back extensions to hit the posterior chain?
I'm talking in terms of aesthetics and overall balance
You can't do a front squats thats heavier than a back squat. Also. Back squats works your lower back alot more. Better definition and thickness i guess.

Why?
Squats aren't necessary for "aesthetics". You can train legs withotu squatting at all, leg presses are a good alternative. However front squats are fine for leg development, better than regular squats for aesthetics perhaps since they place greater load of the quads rather than the glutes.

You won't be able to deadlift as much because your posterior chain will be weaker. The back squat will drive up your deadlift, the front squat will not. But as far as aesthetics go I guess it's okay.
