It's fine.
You have to take into account that the majority of board users is American, and American industrial food is barely something you can consider edible.
So when they say "White bread is horrible", they don't mean white bread, they mean Wonderbread or something akin to it.

Actual white bread is fine.

It's mostly "empty" calories, and in a modern developed country an excess of calories is a far more common problem than a lack of them.
