So is it a good thing if shit floats in the water or not? I'm getting mixed replies by googling.

Fat floats. Are you eating a lot of fat? Usually a lot of animal products like eggs, fatty meats, etc will cause this. It's not a big deal, but maybe eat some vegetables once in a while.
Depends how it fits on the Bristol Stool Form Scale.
