I imagine exercises like this started with someone walking into the gym one day and saying to themselves, "Ya' know. I love benching, but it's just not fuckin' stupid enough. What if... WHAT if... I took my hands... and turned them... backwards?" Fantastic, really! If benching wasn't dangerous enough, lets do it in a way that'll cause the bar to literally drop straight on your neck if you fuck up. Fuck it. Why not do a Reverse AND Suicide Grip? Just give it the ol' "Fuck My Shit Sideways" surprise treatment.

All-in-all, looks like a great way to fuck your shit right up.
