Why? You're not wrong. If you're eating at a deficit, doing cardio, and working out on the side then you're going to lose a substantial amount of weight.

The biggest aspect is how many calories you put in your body.

Lift 3 days a week
Light jog for 20 minutes on rest days, 2-3 days a week.

Personally I masturbate at a furious pace upwards of 8 times a day to burn calories. Moisturizer & lube are a must. Also various supps such as zinc to keep the juices flowing. I highly recommend this method of weight loss. Pull on your pud & drop loads/pounds by buckets.

The main purpose for lifting on a cut is not to burn calories per se, but rather to trick your body into not catabolizing muscle.
