>spend the the first 5 years of my 20's counting macros and lifting
>end up with a mediocre physique
Should I just start fucking around in the gym and not being so autistic with diet and focus on other stuff in life? How can avoid wasting the last 5 years of my 20s?
>>
You may have a shit routine, post body pls
>>
post routine
>>
>shit routine

nah mate, followed the scientifically based proven methods.

I've been counting macros, I assumed that would imply that I also do proper routines, no?

20 years old - I was, 150lbs - 20-22% bodyfat.

25 years old - I am, 185lbs - 13-15% bodyfat.

I look drastically different, but I still look mediocre, when compared to other people (like genetically blessed individuals)
>>
>>37199283
Post pictures or stop fucking whining
>>
>>37199283
what's your point? Either your diet is shit, routine is shit, or your genetics are not great. If it is this last one then either get over it and start fucking around or hop on roids.
>>
>>37199289
This isn't about lifting now. I am asking how I can not waste the next 5 years of my 20s.

I did science based routines and diet, my body-fat went down, my lean mass muscle went up. That's fine, it worked, but the body still looks mediocre. I am okay with this, now I am moving on and want to focus on other things in life that will yield actual beneficial results to my life.

I know for a fact if I continue on until 30 doing what I am doing now I am going to regret it. I would like if you guys stop projecting your own fears about what might happen to you on me, your 1st year lifter attitude is really showing.
>>
>>37199283
you're going to need to post your body otherwise there is nothing we have to offer.
>>
>>37199310
Oh so what you're saying is, you have shit insertions and a terrible body regardless of muscle mass/bodyfat.

Could've just said that dickhead, do whatever the fuck you want.
>>
>>37199289

Why would I need to post pictures? I can make myself look 100x better than I actually do by using good lighting and angles. Why bother? my real physique without all that special helps looks mediocre.

There's absolutely nothing that will change. The lifting and macro tracking did what it was supposed to do, it made my scale weight go up 35 pounds while at the same time my body-fat is nearly 8-10% lower.

The routines and macro tracking has been successful in that regard, on paper, when looking at my stats before and after.

But in actual practice, looking at my after body, the results that Ive had number wise, on paper, did not automatically turn me into an aesthetic beast. I do not have a shrink wrapped look, I don't have full muscle bellies, I don't have graininess and muscles popping.

You guys are so adamate to see pictures, thinking that some how allows you to judge if something has been done right or not. How about you judge my stat changes? 35+ pound lean mass gain with a 8-10% bodyfat reduction, from 5 years of lifting.
>>
>>37199341
Ever thought you might be wrong? If not, what the hell is the point of this thread you moron, literally what are you asking us .

>That's fine, it worked, but the body still looks mediocre. I am okay with this, now I am moving on and want to focus on other things in life that will yield actual beneficial results to my life.

Then why are you asking us what to do?????
>>
>>37199354
Maybe there are other older lifters on here, that aren't just in their 1st year and think they know it all..that can offer some advice to someone at my stage in the game.

I didn't come here to get advice from ignorant <1st year lifters who think they know everything when in reality they don't know shit.

The fact I said I went from 150 20-22% bodyfat, to 185 13-15% bodyfat being ignored, shows me that people here really lack the ability to comprehend the gains I've made lifting in 5 years. I don't see why I need to point this out again, I gained 35 pounds on the scale, and my bodyfat went from 20-22% range down to 13-15%. So technically my LBM gains were more than 35 pounds.

I have visible abs at 185 now at 25 years old, I had no abs at 150 at 20 years old. That a lone should indicate that I've actually done it 100% right. The point is my overall physique, without using any special lighting or camera tricks, looks very mediocre. Maybe this explains why everyone who gets on magazine covers, even the ones on roids, still have to photoshop the shit out of their body.

You still didn't answer me dipshit.

WHAT ARE YOU ASKING US
>>

>all of these stats
>no proof to back them up

Your mind might be so fucked that you think you look like shit since you see yourself everyday but you actually look good.

This is why people told you to post a picture. You don't need to post one with flattering angles or lighting
>>

I am looking for someone on here...who has spent a long time lifting, that eventually grew out of it and stopped taking it so seriously...and focused on other more important aspects of their life. I want to know what steps they took and changed in terms of their training/nutrition in order to change from being extremely dogmatic and autistic about their training/nutrition ( like I am right now ) in order to relax on it, and not take it so seriously, so I can begin focusing on more important things in life so I don't hit 30 and regret wasting another 5 years of my 20s.

I DO NOT believe that someone here, that's only just been for less than a few years can offer me any advice, why? Because they're all still stuck in the mindset that I use to have, I can't take advice from people who are in still in a mindset I was years ago early on in my lifting. I am looking for advice from guys who have already gone through that phase of being obsessed with their routine and nutrition and moved on to not worrying about it so much in order to focus on other more important aspects of their life.

Look up 3dmj Jeff Alberts
>>
>>37199419
If you haven't learnt to do that after 5 years you probably wont ever.

It's not like working out and eating right is something that should consume your entire life, lift about 3-6 hours a week, and manage your calories. Not exactly rocket science m8

When I say I look mediocre, I am comparing myself to a physique like this.

Yes I know its a terrible idea to compare yourself to a fake-natty during prep blasting gear. But I can't help it.
>>
>>37199440
then roid too

You are requesting a highly specific situation to meet your demands and aren't receiving it because people don't respond the way you want them to. guessing its the same for your body desu

why not post the pics? some people will troll some people wont. but until you do and keep writing huge paragraphs bitching. no-one will be able to properly help you
>>
>>37199454
Lifting gave me BD.

I felt more secure with my body at 150lbs 20-22% bodyfat, than I do now 5 years later at 185lbs 13-15% bodyfat.

OP sounds like a whiny teenager that can never be wrong. Please die or stop being so autistic

>scientifically proven methods
>>
>>37199464
you're damn right you have BD, if it bothers you that much leave your natty card behind, but chances are you look huge to the vast majority of the population if you've been lifting for 5 years with a decent routine and diet
>>
>>37199244

Get on gear.

Your conception of a 'built physique' has been warped by over sixty-five years of steroid use.

I don't really count macros except protein and kind of count my calories and run a PPL. Been lifting for 4 years and still making decent gains with it. While I probably could get 20% more results by autistically tracking macros, calories and only eating the same chicken, rice and veggies shit everyday, but in the end I don't really see the point. Lifting is a hobby for me, not a way of living.
>>
>>37199542
I feel like Ogus goes way overboard on using perfect lighting and angles at home in his own environment, to the point where it actually hurts him when he gets on stage, because he ends up looking worse. He puts it down to not peaking right, but in reality he just didn't realize he was making himself appear better than he actually looked.
>>
>>37199564
>Never used roids

You could give someone the best (kek) 'scientifically based proven methods' of training and diet, but they won't build nearly the same quality and size of muscle as someone who simply sits on his ass all day and once a week gets up to pin it with a barebones test cycle.

Read PubMed and the medical lit on sex steroids. Search terms: Aids patients (hint - it's why so many fags you see in big cities are 'JACK3D'), burn victims, the huge amount of material released by the Soviets and East Germans from the sixties onowards about roiding their athletes.
>>
>>37199593

That mass gain favouring the ass-sitting steroid user is only true in the short term. The lack of a training stimulus means the test gains top out quite quickly.

It isnt about your routine.
It isnt about your diet.

You are not going hard enough in the gym.

More muscle failure.
More ROM.
Less rest.
Make the sessions 1 hour and longer.

This is how my body looked like after 8 months FUCKING 8 months of lifting.

And i had a SHIT diet. I ate pizza every single day, vegetables werent a thing.

But i was training like an olympia
>>
>>37199599

You have no idea of what you're talking about. Read the lit, or try the shit before you spout opinions.

Wondered why GENETIC FREAKZ can build their frankenstein arms through death sets of 15lbs dumbells? It ain't the 'training stimulus' of the iron, let me tell you, it's the training stimulus of the mast they're injecting.
>>
>>37199615
ah the "expert" 1st year lifter

enjoy those gains sir, you wont be making many changes at all in the future now.
>>
>>37199641

Considering that failure sets as low as 20% (possibly lower, but I don't think its ever really been checked) spike protein synthesis just as effectively as failure sets at higher percentages, I'm pretty sure the stimulus has something to do it.

But be my guest. Inject 250/wk test-e and sit on the couch and see how long the gains train lasts.
>>
>>37199653
You will literally be making gains if you eat caloric surplus and enough protein. Unless, you're a low test faggot.
>>
>>37199674
In your first year or so, yes. After that, enjoy your fat gains.
>>
>>37199615

Just live life OP. Everyone gets worse to their 30s. As long as you're still trying you'll be miles ahead

Also, how does it matter that it was my first year of lifting. Im was probably bigger in that pic than OP is now.
>>

its like you wanted to look mediocre after 5 years of lifting.
>>
Get on roids brah. You obviously want to have that look, if you know what your doing its completely safe, there is no reason not to get on.
>>
>>37199681

>thick chest
>buldging shoulders

What are you on about? He is proportionate as fuck.
Exspecially for 8 months
>>
>>37199712
Roids are never completely safe, regardless of whether you know what you're doing or not. You don't know how other people will react to taking steroids. It's just bad advice to give such a blanket statement.
>>
>>37199383
>That a lone should indicate that I've actually done it 100% right

How many of these apply to you? Lazy cunt

first post ive read today, and of course its some cunt who can't be fucked to ACTUALLY try. Even if your diet is perfect it makes no difference if you don't even break a sweat in the gym. fuck you stop wasting everyone's time
