When I was fat as fuck going steadily up until I nearly hit 300 I had a terrible case of Pollen allergies.
When I got down to 140, almost all my allergenic reactions were almost completely resolved. Getting pollen in my eyes still fucks me over and if I'm breathing in heavy pollen I'll have a 10 to 30 minute reaction, but that's nothing compared to being crippled for an entire day by it.
Weight loss was so fucking easy and I love the summer now, should have done it sooner.

Working with female athletes as patients I can tell you that at 5' 8" and 147 a lot of them would be considered too lean to be healthy.
Girls with a larger skeletal frame and moderate fitness level could still be considered quite slim at that weight.
By most modern ways of calculating a healthy weight, the 120s would be way too low. Maybe if she freakishly delicate and Asian, and has little muscle mass, it could be considered healthy.

For me, it all started in in the summer going from 7th grade to 8th grade. I had a silly ass middle school crush that I wanted to impress but I noticed I was chubby, halfway into the summer, I dug out only one 15 lb dumb bell and worked my way from there. Halfway through 8th grade, I started to go to my high school's weight room with a nifty schedule. By the start of my freshmen year, I could bench 185 lb and up as that year progressed, was also a football guy. Also another contributor that made me start that early was because I also noticed my school mostly had scrawny, overweight, weak kids and I didn't want to be like them.

I've found that rural areas are quite nice, everyone loves gardening and there's a lot of home-grown veggies around, plus a larger emphasis on cycling and exercise.
Huge cities suffer the most, filled with poverty and take-away shops and dwindling green space and leisure centres.
The university's are surprisingly good though, or at least my one has been. Again, a lot of focus on exercise, sport and gardening, and nothing so far on HAES bullshit. I hope things improve.
